Well they did say the first quarter... April is the beginning of the second so everyone was expecting it to have released sometime in mid or late March. (That explains the excitement over the March 15th date.)
The devs even said themselves that the latest the game would release was March, although anything in these games are subject to change it looked like something good to look forward to.
My facts and stuff are sloppy I know but I just felt like typing so sue me. :P

Guys, there isn't much point making threads like these. All we can do is wait until Sam or another dev announces. I thought it would be today, but I seem to be wrong.

Ex:
"hit a few bugs, gonna take a while to fix it"
"almost done! "
"It might be ready in # of days/weeks"
