View Full Version : Best gesr for pure level 50 mage (PVE)
I looked at the sets available for level 50 mages and since I have multiple choices I can't decide which one to go for. I play in offensive strategy, so wand + shield won't do it for me. Hope, it clears up what is good for me.

If your looking for cheap sets: Cosmos wand set! If expensive, shadow glow stick set!!

Are mystery/cyber sets any good? Theyre totally free, and my mage is approaching lvl 50 so im curious as well.
Price doesnot matter, but it should be staff and not wand + shield

The Shadow set (wand+doll) is better than any staff set at that level, and is even highly competitive to the lvl 55+ sets when used properly.

Shadows wand set is very powerful for mages
A good cheap combo is mystery gear(free) + cyber doll(free) + cosmos wand(only thing to buy)

One thing you want to look out for is wand vs staff. When I farm on my Mage I make sure I have both handy. If I am the only Mage I tend to use wand so I can stay alive and avoid long walks back. If there is another fellow Mage I feel safer using the staff for the high damage and faster clearing because the other Mage can help with reviving and healing too.

it's a dumb idea to go PVE-ing with a staff, no offense. When u do AOE's in dungeons, basically ur tanking the whole lot of mobs( mages are awesome "unintentional" tankers). you'll need a wand n shield, or in this case for pure INT, bracer, to survive. Staffs are more reserved towards PVP-ing, altho it may have aoe attcks.
EDIT: #mages are awesome "unintentional" tankers# ex: heal (holds aggro for pretty decent amount of time, "taunt" equivalent), firestorm, icestorm, lightning(doesn't hold aggro for long tho. minor aggro skill), buffs (decent aggro), debuffs :kiwi-fruit:

The bosses are at the end of the shadow caves levels. They have a pretty low drop chance so use the bigger/big luck if you have it and/or get a luck pot. Also these bosses are tough to beat. And yes shadow glowstick and wand are a great set to use, great damage and awesome regen and epic looks :). If you have DL shield/PL shield and old pumpkin + bat wings looks great :)
