The levels that you can gain xp in an ao campaign without that 5 plat elixir is.

Ao1: 33-43 (you can level to 43, not 44)
Ao2: 38-48 (same as above you can level to 48 not 49)
Ao3: 43-53 (same as above you can level to 53 not 54)

More expierence gain in ao2 for a level 40 then ao1 right? Why do i sometimes see level 41s in ao1 if its slower leveling?

Yes the higher the campaign the more XP, if you are in the right Level Campaign!! And they might want to get more kills or don't want to die a lot!!

It's slower leveling because you gain xp slower, but you can gain more kills. Some players like to have higher kill vs. death ratios and one of the best ways to do that is to level in the same campaign until you cannot gain xp there anymore.
