It takes so much time to create a decent RPG, let alone MMORPG. It was expected that will all the technology (procedural generation, available game engines, shared assets, etc.) the development time would stabilize but it seems it's taking longer and longer.

Most of these aren’t online or really mmo’s but I definitely understand the long development times, I don’t really mind this especially when it means a better finished product, I just hate they announce it and go 2+ years with no update to potential players, even 1 year is kinda annoying

Pc player here, but it would be really cool to play some of the older Elder Scrolls titles since I didn’t get into the series until Skyrim and I’m hoping the Xbox/MS purchase of Bethesda/Zenimax brings their future games to an even higher quality.

Just wanted to join this fun thread..
If anyone like voxel(cube world) mmorpg with good endgame/player controlled economy/graphics/ect... Try Trove.. I personally love that game.. I quit it recently..cuz ddnt want so many games but it's worth spending time for..
Also it has good playercount/economy.
Only downside I'd say is... The endgame is sorta limited and pvp is not very good... But always new content is added yearly.
