With rumors of PL2 floating around, I was just thinking of come cool features.
Most of them would also make great improvements for PL so I figure it’s relevant either way.

Stats:
-Constitution/Vitality: compared to strength, this would more directly affect health pool and regen as well as armor/defense. It could even allow for a block% chance to mitigate additional damage or a heal absorption bonus. Essentially creating more of a tanking class.
-Wisdom: counterpart to intelligence, instead of increasing damage, wisdom would greatly affect healing amount and mana regen and slightly lower skill cooldowns. The idea behind this is to create more of a support class.

Reaching attribute values could unlock new skills to better play as these roles.

Skills:

One of my favorite thing when I started DL was the skill trees. Everyone was the same “class” but you could play totally different depending on how you built your skills.
I think combining that with the 5 classes of PL would be amazing, if you could branch off each class into a specific sub-class or pick some low tier skills from each to play a versatile/rounded character.
At one point I had written out some additional skills for each class but I think I lost the computer it was saved to.

Individual Skills:
I have always enjoyed mmos where every action you do builds your character. For example: attack with a spear = increase your spear proficiency/damage. Use a shield = level up your blocking. Same for non-combat skills: crafting, merchanting, etc. You could even cap a character just as a crafter.
I know no STS game has handled leveling in this way, but that could be the next step to set it apart.
I guess this one isn’t much of a suggestion for PL, you could really only add it in a small scale for crafting and merchanting.

Daily bonus:
This is less of something I care about but I think it could help attract/keep players. It seems more and more popular phone games are becoming casual or “idle” games. I think if some type of idle rewards could encourage more players to play daily.
The current daily blessing timer: I think it would help if you just had to check in once a day rather than it being in a small window based off when you checked in the previous day. For example you could check anytime on 12/5 and then again anytime on 12/6 and still qualify for the reward instead of how it currently is.
Another idea is on the first login of the day you could just get 1 platinum per account not per character or 1 pass for a premium dungeon.
And the first login of the week maybe another resource maybe make a craftable vanity and each week you can get one component for it?

Additional idea: maybe some type of consumable ticket that would allow you to sweep a map instantly and collect the loot?

Pay2Win/Elixirs
Personally, aside from XP and luck, I hate elixirs.
I think the stat multipliers make it impossible to balance pve. It can make most combat laughably easy, but if you up the difficulty to compensate for them, it will be literally impossible without them.
I’m wondering if there can be an alternative to keep pve challenging.
My primary idea would be some type of monthly pass. Maybe add a premium campaign at the same time, and include access to that, as well as an exclusive vanity, premium towne area, daily challenges

Let me know what you think

As in a storyline?

Heyo

Stats could be interesting or it may over complicate class balance as when fox and rhino were introduced.

Agree on skill trees, loved that in dl. Btw one reason I like pl character creation is that any class can use any item. Made for a lot of verity.

Daily- I agree with eliminating time window. As to the plat, no way. When that was introduced in pl I, without thinking began making a “toon army” (as Sam put it) before I even considered it could be wrong.

Also not a big fan of lixirs but I’m neutral as far as it may be a game revenue for sts.

I’m hoping for a bunch of Easter eggs for players of all their games. I wanna see a JustG n Sam npc, an old forgotten town called fnord, have to find a rare arcane deary, kill a troll named Laquint, or there’s a black magic baba- g who spams in town constantly, have to get a sparkling pwnie to ride to blackstar ship

I could go on .....

There's alot that has to be taken into account here. I think that the whole community should come together and discuss what things everyone would like to see in PL2.

Some of the things you've stated like the daily bonuses and individual skills are great ideas to me personally. It's the little things that can be looked at when developing PL2.

I do think that sts should also notify the community about their input on the ideas the community suggests. I can say for most people, we want nothing but the best for PL2 and to help it grow, prosper, and be something that everyone can enjoy. :D

Agreed if it comes to additional stats or balance, balance is far more important.
The high damage output from both str builds and int builds always made me wish for tank and support builds. Like I remember ao3 and sewers when mages would get kicked for not healing enough but that mind set I think was lost once the mega elixirs were added.

That’s one thing I missed a lot in AL(also the camera control), warbirds, pallies, dex bears, even the magnificent int bear. Super fun

I remember that lol couldn’t you get upwards of 10 plat per character?
This could mostly be avoided if it was before the character selection so it would be 1 plat per account instead of per character, but I don’t think it’s an absolute necessity.

Also not a big fan of lixirs but I’m neutral as far as it may be a game revenue for sts.
Yeah and I know elixirs were a huge money maker, allowed them to remove the paywall for almost all content for f2p players. I think it just had a negative impact on pve gameplay in the long run.

If there’s not a better solution, possibly a boss portal at the end of levels that pauses elixirs at least for the boss fights.

If PL2 becomes a reality, this is an absolute must.
As much as Cinco has put into PL, I’m sure he will have it loaded with secrets.

Oh and to add to wishes, I’ve always appreciated the cross class combos in pl.
when I joined pl vets were quick to school me, and I learned team co-operation. There were more than one cross class combo to learn.
Learning when to add my combo to a mega made me want to learn how to be a bird as part of a team, & then bear, & then how to mage (so to speak).

Al is - how to proc weapons in what order- you’re part of a team, but there’s no teamwork

I want the cool cutscenes they have in AL.

Also well designed legendary gear with set bonuses. Some of my favorite from pocket legends was the L66 islander wand set and the demonic sets. We could maybe see a comeback of these for nostalgia reasons. But we all hate recycled stuff dont we? Why not spice these sets up in PL2?

A couple more ideas:

Merging all Townes
I’ve always thought it was cool how the whole world connected, I’m not sure if it’s possible now but it would be pretty cool if they connected more seamlessly without the load screens and portals.

Almost like an open world area but very few enemies since only a couple of the roads between Townes spawn enemies. But it would be cool to expand on the spawns though, like rare spawning world bosses.

Guild/Clan enhancements
Guild Bankwhere you could deposit an item for other members to use, you could set a password for each item or allow a certain member rank to access it

Guild levels
Level up a guild through activity points gathered by all members.
Points could be accumulated by:
-Killing a pve enemy or pvp opponent
-Crafting an item
-Selling an item in the CS
-Checking in for the daily blessing
-Completing a daily quest

Perhaps you could select a guild type when you create them to give bonus for certain tasks and reduce points from the rest. To make it fair if it’s a merchant guild or pvp or just leave it default if you plan to do everything.
Leveling the guild could unlock guild hall decorations, special quests, special items, special crafting recipes, or special vendors(maybe sell old crafting ingredients from previous caps). It could even unlock new maps just for the guild.
This would also allow for casual events of double guild activity points or something similar.

Guild Wars/Battles
There are tons of ways this could be done, my favorite idea I came up with would be to turn the guild hall into a pvp area where all members of the guild would automatically be on the same team. Obviously non-members can’t get in to other guilds’ halls, so to attack the guild hall you would have to get a key that would rarely drop by killing someone in pvp (maybe sell the keys for plat too)I don’t know if would be possible to select the guild hall you attack or if it should just be random. Once someone enters your guild hall with a key a guild message would alert members their guild is under attack so they can go defend it, but I think you should also be able to buy NPC’s to defend your guild even if no one is online.
As far as the reward, maybe an achievement and titles for “overthrowing” a certain number of guilds or a unique item or quest etc.

A big one everyone missed: Singular Server for everyone; regardless of geographic location.

Definitely important and the cross platform. I think this is probably a given since they have been doing this with all their games since they got rid of the fnord server in the early days of PL.

PL2 should have a subreddit on reddit. This allows us to downvote or dislike comments or upvote/like good comments.

E.g. person A says BD should be brought back.
This guy will get like -200 downvotes and his comment hidden from everyone else and nobody will take it seriously with so many dislikes. This is a good system to stop trolls/ foolish posts.

Not a bad idea but I’m not sure if devs looking for ideas would want to have to check an additional site
The community is small enough and they already moderate this forum so it should be easy enough to sift through suggestions, but I would agree that would be a better format to organize better/popular ideas

Needs a reboot I reckon. Into today's graphics but with same core game but with added functionality
