When the cold winds blow, dragons stir. Syrillax is back for another year, but her brood continues to grow, and with it, the threat to Frozen Hope. The residents of Frozen Hope have opened their gates to all Arlorian heroes willing to take up arms against the dragons.

The Winter Event runs for 3 weeks from 12/17 to 1/7, with a 3 day cooldown.

This is an Energy Event. Energy Essence drops everywhere in the realm but the chances to loot are higher when fighting monsters at (or above) your level, and lower when fighting monsters below your level.

Bane Item: Orb of Ursume

The Orb of Ursume is a special item purchasable only for Platinum that will help you along your way through mobs of frozen enemies and increasingly challenging bosses. Having the Orb in your inventory will reduce the critical rate of bosses by 6% and deal up to 50% more damage to monsters and bosses in the Mount Spyr Pass zone!

The best news of all? If you purchased an Orb in past years--you're set! Same orb, same perks.

Bane Item Upgrade

The Orb of Ursume can be upgraded with a recipe that drops from Syrillax. The upgraded version of the orb works in the Brooding Grounds in addition to the original zone.

Mount Spyr

Kick off the Winter Event by entering the Mount Spyr Pass portal. Fight bosses and baddies, earn tokens, and loot some key vanity pieces to this year's new sets.

Most importantly, snag the Weak Flamestones and open chests that drop in the zone to earn Icy Dragon Scales. These will be instrumental in defeating Syrillax's brood later on.

Event Zone: The Brooding Grounds

Throughout the Winter Event, Syrillax's brood egg begins to stir and all Arlorian heroes must gather to defeat it before it gets out of control!

The egg resides in the Brooding Grounds, which opens for 1 hour every 3 hours for a chance to crack the egg and make sure what's inside doesn't leave those grounds. While you wait, craft Dragon Flamestones as your ticket to the fight. When you enter the zone, one Dragon Flamestone will be removed from your inventory, the egg will hatch and the fight will commence!

Among other things, the Brood Dragon will drop a unique set of crafting components that are required to build the new Snow Dragon vanity weapons! Pick up the crafting recipe from the Token Vendor in town.

You can also snag some new holiday furnishings, like giant holiday bulbs in various colors, and a set of icicle lights.

Blizzerax Hunter's Elixir

For the more active farmers, you can purchase a special tradeable and stashable hunter's elixir from the event vendor for 10 Platinum. This elixir will increase the drop chance of the Snow Dragon Weapon components used to craft Snow Dragon Vanity Weapons! The elixir lasts for 10 minutes after consuming.

And then my hope gets destroyed. I cry about the fact that dragon vanity has changed to lb. It looks nice but why not plat tier vanity like always??? Would be better if we get vanity for plat tier and a better version for lb. Because the whole event is usually build around the dragon theme... Anyway the pther things seem to be nice.

1. LB aura (meh, it look ok...not something i will shoot for) wish people luck, it can be sold as many would like that option better since vanity look like years prior

All these 1700plat auras.. almost everytime they sold out. Easy way to make money for sts. So what does the community gets in return for that? A disappointing and weak winter event (same as last year). Recolour brood vanitys, weak vanity weapons and actually nothing to loot from the brood boss. Like you spend 0 time in the content wich is obtainable by f2p players. But wait the new auras are back and for the 1700 plat you do get time to make something nice.. :/ I thought winter / xmas was something for everyone, but it seems like this winterevent is for sts only. What a great way to thank your player base. Is it really that hard to add something great to loot in this event for everyone?! Like an artifact or a special egg or maybe a droppable aura?

They doing a great job and of course they need money to create all the stuff bro. Its just the nature and thats how all can survive. If you buy something you help to keep the great game alive see it that way.

But i also agree it has to have some good bossloot and more stages. Like Silver, Gold. Plat, Arcane Tier. Just something you can go for or another idea is to change a bit the level of Leaderboard. Like 100 ppl get something and every 25 another reward. Its just an idea. Just that players have to do a lot. Or reach like 200k points for a very good item. Anyways thats just ideas great Job STS!!

I understand they need money, but what do they give in return of that? A 'loop' of events with recolours, copied items/pets/maps/events. They only design new stuff to give it a huge price tag. Look at the auras for example. Every event we get one or two new ones. I bet they never made money this easy. What will happen to those auras in a few months? When their like 40 different ones out there? A 90euro aura will be worth 20m max. But what I'm concerned about most are the long term plans for this game. I remember we had a so called, I quote: 'greatest event evaaaaaa'. It was really a poor attempt and I waited a long time untill it got finished. Guess it will never happen. And how about the new expansion that would come this year? Heard nothing about it. The future of this game is unstable especially cause they busy developing a new one (PL2). Feels like all recent events are made to extract money from this player base to put into the new game. Why would they return arc precious for example after 6ish weeks it got released... can only think of gaining easy money. And if it's due Xmas and you want to hand out something that's desired, it wouldnt harm to return it for EVERY PLAYER. My point in all this is that the f2p player base is as important as the p2w player base. The f2p base gets neglected imo and this winter event is another example. (Brood vanity, familiar weapon vanitys Knives?? Rogues get knives again?).The p2w base thinks they get great content for their money invested, but will soon find out that it's worth way less then then invested. The player base is decreasing and it will decrease more and more in the loop we at. I dont wanna sound salty but am genuinely concerned at this point. If we cant look forward to events like winterevent, what can we look forward to?

In terms of the difference in drop rates: our goal is to make farming energy at (or above) your character level more effective than farming low-level content. Previously, since you could go anywhere to farm essence (and players then naturally gravitated to the lowest levels that made sense for it) the global drop rate was made especially low. Our experiments this year with 'hard level ranges' for event loot, and 'soft level fall-off' for jewels have brought us to this new system... and this new system's intention is to offer a better drop rate for even-level kills that falls off considerably as you out-level the content.

With respect to the Hauntlet content, I believe that the zone scales up to max level - which should mean that you get the highest drop rate. I am not 100% positive about this and I'm not at a place where I can check the actual data. That said, I'll check this evening and if I'm totally wrong about this, I'll amend this response with the corrected info.

This is an Energy Event. Energy Essence drops everywhere in the realm but the chances to loot are higher when fighting monsters at (or above) your level, and lower when fighting monsters below your level.

@Sts About Full Event Threads a day before the event. This is just something I been noticing over the years and I think a change to this method might or will improve things. Normally If there is a Event Preview the week before you guys give us a small sneak peak and maybe 1-2 Pics. I get it, this method of the element of surprise to keep player’s excited but not release all the Event Details. But does this really honestly work? With all the people complaining over the years(They have the right to not bashing anyone) a day before the Event? So a thought. Show us the Full Event Preview(As a Rough Draft) a week prior to Event start date. So this way the community is more involved and can give ideas on what to improve and you guys will have a Week v.s 1 Day to change things. I feel like there will be less complaining and disappointment from players because even if the Full Event Preview Rough Draft is not up to everyone expectations there is still time to improve/add to the Event. Also we have a lot of talented artists in the community, a method like this can give a opportunity for them to submit their work which will bring fresh new ideas and content to Major Events.

So lets take what I just said and use this Winter Event as example. So lets say yesterday was the Full Event Preview Rough Draft. Many really don’t like the Dragon LB Vanities but would prefer the Ice Statue ones be used as the Top 5 Reward. That’s fine right np Event does not start to next week. You would have time to remove the Dragon ones and make them a Brood Dragon Boss Drop or put them in the Locked Crates, and make and add the Ice Statue ones(With a new exclusive Aura) as a Top 5 LB reward. Now you can also add the Dragon Aura in Plat Store without it taking away from LB Runner’s Reward effort to go for Top 5. Many are wondering about Brood Dragon drops like a new Artifact. You would have time get player’s feedback on that as well as other things to add to the drop table, maybe even player submitted Vanity Designs can be added here. This is just a small example of a lot possibilities that can be done with what I'm talking about. I don’t want to rant to much on here 😂. I feel like better quality events can be made this way. And ofc I know you can’t make everyone happy but I think there would be a lot less disappointment with this method. So…Something to think about for Major Events in 2021. 🤔

congrats...you show that its 80% of that is ONLY vanities..wow amazing..they can make like good loot from brood like arcane drops/eggs and more people will buy the elixir(p2w/f2p) and its a win-win for both sts and us...those prizes you mention its worthless almost. but now for all people keep asking for more vanitys/auras, making sts being lazy making events because they found a better source of getting money..instead of upgrading the game like new bosses for major events,maps etc, things that makes us happy and grinding and with good things will make more people buying things and keep more people around the game.

@Sts About Full Event Threads a day before the event. This is just something I been noticing over the years and I think a change to this method might or will improve things. Normally If there is a Event Preview the week before you guys give us a small sneak peak and maybe 1-2 Pics. I get it, this method of the element of surprise to keep player’s excited but not release all the Event Details. But does this really honestly work? With all the people complaining over the years(They have the right to not bashing anyone) a day before the Event? So a thought. Show us the Full Event Preview(As a Rough Draft) a week prior to Event start date. So this way the community is more involved and can give ideas on what to improve and you guys will have a Week v.s 1 Day to change things. I feel like there will be less complaining and disappointment from players because even if the Full Event Preview Rough Draft is not up to everyone expectations there is still time to improve/add to the Event. Also we have a lot of talented artists in the community, a method like this can give a opportunity for them to submit their work which will bring fresh new ideas and content to Major Events.

So lets take what I just said and use this Winter Event as example. So lets say yesterday was the Full Event Preview Rough Draft. Many really don’t like the Dragon LB Vanities but would prefer the Ice Statue ones be used as the Top 5 Reward. That’s fine right np Event does not start to next week. You would have time to remove the Dragon ones and make them a Brood Dragon Boss Drop or put them in the Locked Crates, and make and add the Ice Statue ones(With a new exclusive Aura) as a Top 5 LB reward. Now you can also add the Dragon Aura in Plat Store without it taking away from LB Runner’s Reward effort to go for Top 5. Many are wondering about Brood Dragon drops like a new Artifact. You would have time get player’s feedback on that as well as other things to add to the drop table, maybe even player submitted Vanity Designs can be added here. This is just a small example of a lot possibilities that can be done with what I'm talking about. I don’t want to rant to much on here 😂. I feel like better quality events can be made this way. And ofc I know you can’t make everyone happy but I think there would be a lot less disappointment with this method. So…Something to think about for Major Events in 2021. 🤔

The ones in the store are not the Massive ones, they're the standard 3x pull ones. The massive ones are crafted and give 5x pulls.

I think this is an awesome event with all the improvements, such as the energy drop changes and brood. I also feel like the tier rewards are worth grinding for. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the Snow Dragon set since the only way to get the aura and 4/4 set is either by running lb and getting the set, or by buying it with plat or an insane amount of gold. I'm also not really a fan of the weapons since they don't really match up with the set and look like toothpicks.

They dont drop often, so the Brood totally stinks this year. Also, were is the flamestone recipe for lower levels ?
My lvl 3 character cant do Brood ???

@Cinco i just notice the winter kings vanity set proc is really low chance , 10elite run and i counted the proc chance i only get 8 proc in total of that run,also at least make the coins sound effect more noticeable and visible kindly take a look at these pls i really like the vanity you guys made thank you hope you consider on checking this..

When the cold winds blow, dragons stir. Syrillax is back for another year, but her brood continues to grow, and with it, the threat to Frozen Hope. The residents of Frozen Hope have opened their gates to all Arlorian heroes willing to take up arms against the dragons.

The Winter Event runs for 3 weeks from 12/17 to 1/7, with a 3 day cooldown.

This is an Energy Event. Energy Essence drops everywhere in the realm but the chances to loot are higher when fighting monsters at (or above) your level, and lower when fighting monsters below your level.

Bane Item: Orb of Ursume

The Orb of Ursume is a special item purchasable only for Platinum that will help you along your way through mobs of frozen enemies and increasingly challenging bosses. Having the Orb in your inventory will reduce the critical rate of bosses by 6% and deal up to 50% more damage to monsters and bosses in the Mount Spyr Pass zone!

The best news of all? If you purchased an Orb in past years--you're set! Same orb, same perks.

The egg resides in the Brooding Grounds, which opens for 1 hour every 3 hours for a chance to crack the egg and make sure what's inside doesn't leave those grounds. While you wait, craft Dragon Flamestones as your ticket to the fight. When you enter the zone, one Dragon Flamestone will be removed from your inventory, the egg will hatch and the fight will commence!
