How strange that u r crafting only sang leather to which u have strangely bought a recipe already and u strangely are a dexmage who uses only plat stuff and has only 400k.

It's not necessarily a scam, its a risky under the table kind of deal
obviously he has plenty of plat and not much gold so wants to make some cash off it
most likely its not a scam as he blatantly posts on forums

They're not always scams, ppl do this to earn money ._. he may have just bought it accidentaly to see what it does... i did that on plat plate and i regret it now lol :P

This seems pretty good evidence that it is suspicious no doubt and likely a scam. I saw someone in Mt Fang offering to craft for 50K. Could have been the same guy. He kept spamming the town with the offer but i was only there for a minute and didn't pay much attention.
