At level 20, you will need 17670 XP to complete the level. The following are the options for completing this level.

Option 1: The free method. Grind it out daily. Takes 18 days to complete.

In this case you have to be diligent about converting energy to XP throughout the day. You can probably consume about 200 energy per day. By the time you get to the "Downtown Suburbs" campaign, the exchange rate for energy to xp is between (28/5)=5.6 and (30/7)=4.3. Running a mission is (10/3)=3.3, but sometimes you get free energy as a drop, so I would estimate that running missions typically yields (30/6)=5 if you get +3 energy one out of 3 runs. So, on average, you get about 5 XP per energy. To complete the level, you need (17670/5)=3534 energy. At a rate of 200 energy per day, it will take (3534/200)=18 days.

Option 2: Buy energy. 14 hours. Costs $165 to complete the level.

It costs $1 to refill 25 energy. To complete the level, you can buy energy, and use the instant (30/7) energy to XP conversion in the "Downtown Suburbs" campaign. The amount of energy needed will be (17670/(30/7))=4123. The cost of that energy will be (4123/25)=$165

Suppose it takes about 5 minutes to buy and use the energy. In that time, you collect one energy, so you will have 25+1=26 energy every 5 minutes. In the "Downtown Suburbs" campaign, you can press two different (6/25 : 5 minute) missions. And press (30/7 : instant) "Feed on the Werewolf" mission twice. This would give (25+25+30+30)=110 XP in 5 minutes, which is 12*110=1320 XP per hour. At 1320 XP per hour, the level can be completed in (17670/1320)=14 hours.

Option 3: Buy XP. Costs $353 to complete the level.

The cost of buying XP is $1 per 50 XP. To by XP directly, it would cost (17670/50)=$353.40

Edit: Since I finished on May 5, I guess it took about 14 days of occasional playing. Once I reached the highest level I was able to use the higher conversion rate tasks like 6/65, 9/55, 6/58, 6/40. I saved up the completed tasks and only cashed them in when ready to fight in missions (to use the buff bonuses). I got 600K gold from selling the pinks obtained during leveling.

Not exactly. You get 288 free energy per 24 hour period, i'm finding a balance between automissions and 3D map missions that nets closer to 300-325 actions in a 24 hour period from dropped energy. My day one total was 1867 xp without spending plat. That brings it under 10days if I can continue at that pace.

probably you accounted for 8 hours offline to sleep in your calc? I might be a bit extreme, but I set the phone alarm for 2 hrs, wakeup click automissions, set alarm then back to sleep. Takes about a minute.

Those other methods aren't an option for me, too expensive, and if I slack off, I guess I will wind up 15-18 days at the end.
Ahh well its only a game. :) good luck!

Not exactly. You get 288 free energy per 24 hour period... set the phone alarm for 2 hrs, wakeup click automissions

I allow time for sleep. What you are doing is not healthy. At mininum, you need at least 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep. Also, I assume that you will not have your full attention on the game 24/7, but drop in every couple of hours if not busy.

Note: I had to drive over 900 miles this week end. I found that every 2 hours of driving it was easy enough to log in and click a few missions to consume the energy, without having to stop the car. (If the highway is long and straight and there are no other cars around).

... I set the phone alarm for 2 hrs, wakeup click automissions, set alarm then back to sleep.

LOL. That's dedication. But yeah... as csb mentioned... probably not the most healthy way to game.

Experience per energy seems to go up at higher campaigns. I use 8 energy for 43 xp and 155 gold just by talking to a human girl -_-'
Efficient xp/hour. That gives me over 400 a day. 129 per 2 hours

After you zero out the meter on the 4eng long bakes, play 'Observe from Above' every 25 minutes. Once you acquire the the Mission 'Visit Lee's Flat', play that every 30 minutes, instead of Observe.

Observe can be played 60 times in a 25 hour period, from a zeroed out meter, for 1680xp...and 9000 gold.

Visit can be played 50 times in a 25 hour period, from a zeroed out meter, for 2000xp...and 8250 gold.

Visit is the fastest xp gain I see so far. Although, I'm stuck at Scout Ghoul Hangout, which is a 12 hour mission. So I'm not sure what the fastest xp gain is after that.

Have fun...

'Sniff Out Werewolves' is 40 exp for 6 energy on a 10 min timer, same as 'Visit Lee's Flat'.

These two are by far the most energy efficient short-bakes.

Cool story, bro! I havent spent a dime (except for my initial plat purchase) ... and I'm loving the game and grinding away to 21!

No need for the "cool story bro". He was just giving this information for anyone that's interested. You like grinding it out without plat and enjoying it? Cool story bro. He also provided ways to do it without plat.

Don't be a troll.

My suggestion to all the heavy plat players looking for 21. Put your plat to 'use' ;) Grind slowly for free ~until~ they release an elite level item. At that point, BUY BUY BUY!

His post was relevant to the topic in the sense that he was also stating how he prefers to grind it out. Some of you people need to lighten up. This is a public forum after all.

Im also doing this energy research thingy, I seem to be getting the same thing, 1 energy per mission, but Im also checking if the amount of monsters or chests affects anything lol.

Exactly, I see no point in buying plat to reach 21 when there is no reward for reaching the elite cap.

To have 1 less level to gain when next campaign comes out....

Going from level 20-21 when level cap is raised will take 5 minutes..It will end up costing 1700 exp total.

Going from 20-21 at this point is like 5-6 levels worth of platinium.

But since there's no cap update on the way, I bet most people will get there with auto-tasks.

Actually i would like to have a stat that just records all the xp gains even when capped... would be nice to see how high people could get that number simply by playing at cap...
