Ok, after spending 1,500 plat on dragon packs This weekend, and not getting the rare dragon, I was wondering if anyone knew the actual chance (like what % it is) of getting the gold dragon. I plan on buying more packs till I get him... But i would at least like to know just what my chances of getting him actually are before I blow through another few thousand plat

Dang that's a lot of platinum... Most of my friends who got the dragon (2) got him on their first try >_<

If I were you, I'd at least wait to see if it shows up as the Deal of the Day.

I think this thread really magnifies how effective in-app purchases are. If the item was listed as $31.25 (using the standard price of an 800 plat pack) for a chance to win this different colored dragon, I don't think too many people would buy it. But because there is usually a disconnect in the brain with the correlation of "800 plat" and "$50" when you're buying things like vanities and elixirs, its easy to spend a lot of plat on things without realizing you're spending $1 for every 16 platinum.

I fall in to this too, but it's worth pointing out I guess.

I agree. I'm dumbfounded that people spend $70-100 to get some pixels on their screeen. But to each his own.

We will see how much restraint you show when they bring back the oyster class and the new Oyster Vantities!!!! ;)

It's like gambling in real life casinos. If people had to lay out $100 bills on every bet rather than using chips, you'd most likely see less $1000 bets out there on the Blackjack tables. The mental disconnect from actual dollars by converting them to platinum can make people buy $100 pet dragons in game.

... After saving my plat for a week, I bought 2 more dragon packs..... Still no Mitas, that's 2,500 plat spent on dragon packs without getting the Rare one... I'm starting to foam at the mouth because of STS's stupid random chance packs....
