MELEE WEAPONS ---> I think what I dislike the most about SL (and greatly enjoy about PL) is the variety of weapons ... and in turn, the fun fighting styles they create. Not to mention the different looks each avatar/toon can have. Sure, all the animals in PL can go ranged, but some can go two handed melee -or- two handed ranged, one handed melee -or- one handed ranged -or- two one-handed melee weapons. VARIETY IS THE SPICE OF LIFE! Its fun to change mid-game too, pending boss DPS fights vs. mob Dmg. fights ... and it makes PvP more fun IMHO. In SL, everybody is always ranged. 8-(
For hand-to-hand we can choose from vibro-swords, shock-lances, energy-flails, power-hammers, grappler-gloves, sonic-whips, etc ... the sci-fi melee weapon options are almost endless! DEVs, please make melee weapons a fun alternative to this 100% ranged game. PLUS ... who does not like to get up close and personal?
WEAPON PROCS ---> Another of my faves in PL are the weapons proxies ... as of yet, unheard of in SL. (right?) Some of these procs even add to Combos and Mega-Combos in PL and/or they stack with skills. Again, variety in combat styles is a good thing for MMORPGs. Who does not like to see the COMBO or MEGA text drop on-screen. Whereas everybody running around with a shield and pistol is getting very old, very fast ... pew-pew-pew ... and in many cases its the exact same shield and and the exact same pistol!
In conclusion, bring on the melee weapons into Star Legends (and give them some kick-butt weapon procs too) ... until then, I'll be playing PL. Tks. in Adv.
