If you want to change your submission you can go to your earlier submission and edit the post to change to your new submission.

Judging
Entries will be judged by the Spacetime Studios Development Team. Equal weight will be applied to judging your visual design and your written descriptive component, so please spend time on both. You can include details about possible weapon procs or effects in your description. We’ll do our best to recreate those effects in game should you win.

Remember – all designs and art MUST be your own – created and submitted by you!



Submission Agreement

This is the agreement of SpaceTime Studios LLC, a Texas limited liability company located on the Internet at Spacetimestudios.com ("SPACETIME"), and you ("Submitter").

This Submission Agreement (the “Agreement”) is made and entered into as of the date of acceptance, as provided below, by Submitter.

The Submitter desires to furnish SPACETIME with one or more sets of source designs for Content (the "Content") for review and consideration for publication by SPACETIME, on, in, or in connection with SPACETIME’s online game now known as “Pocket Legends.”

It is a condition to SPACETIME's acceptance, consideration, and possible publication of the Content that Submitter agrees to the following terms and conditions:

1. Submitter acknowledges that SPACETIME is engaged in extensive research and development in many areas, including without limitation ongoing development of Pocket Legends and other games and communities, and other content for the consumer marketplace. Submitter further acknowledges that in the course of its business SPACETIME receives from others, including other submitters, its own employees and employees of its affiliates, numerous submissions of concepts, ideas, and designs for Content, and that SPACETIME may have developed or may in the future develop materials, or may have received or may in the future receive submissions of materials, similar or identical to those presented to SPACETIME by Submitter. Submitter understands that Submitter will not be entitled to any recognition or other consideration for any submitted materials nor will Submitter be entitled to recognition or consideration because of the use by SPACETIME or any of its affiliates of any such similar or identical material.

2. In the event that SPACETIME determines, in its sole discretion, that Content provided by Submitter may be added to, integrated into, or otherwise included in Pocket Legends and for related purposes, then Submitter will be deemed to have granted SPACETIME an irrevocable, exclusive, worldwide, royalty free, fully paid, right and license in and to the Content for purposes of use of Content in Pocket Legends, other products or services or SPACETIME, and for institutional purposes for and for the benefit of SPACETIME. The license includes all rights under copyright, and the full right to modify, edit, revise, or otherwise alter the Content. Submitter hereby waives all moral rights he or she may have in and to the Content. The license granted hereunder includes, without limitation, the right for SPACETIME to make derivative works based on or incorporating Submitter’s Content.

3. When and if SPACETIME utilizes Content, it will endeavor to provide recognition of Submitter on it Pocket Legends Internet Site; provided that failure to do so will not be a breach of this Agreement. Consideration of the Content by SPACETIME, and the recognition set forth in this Section, is the sum total of consideration to be provided to Submitter in connection with rights granted herein. SPACETIME will be under no further obligation to enter into a relationship with Submitter; however nothing in this Agreement shall preclude the parties from entering into future negotiations with respect to Content or further services from Submitter. SPACETIME shall have no obligation to return any Content to Submitter.

4. Submitter represents and warrants that (i) all Content is an original work of authorship created by Submitter; ; (ii) Submitter has the exclusive, unconditional right and authority to submit and/or convey to SPACETIME the Content and the rights granted herein, (iii) no use of Content as provided herein by SPACETIME or its designee(s) will infringe upon or violate the rights of any third party; (iv) Submitter has the right and authority to enter into this Agreement with SPACETIME and (v) no outstanding agreements exist, whether written or implied, which are inconsistent with any of the provisions of this Agreement.

5. This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas without giving effect to the conflicts of law principles thereof. Any action arising out of this Agreement will be brought only in the State of Federal courts located in Austin, Texas, and Submitter expressly consents to the exclusive jurisdiction of the foregoing courts. In addition to any recovery, the prevailing party in any action will be entitled to an award of its reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs in connection with any action.

6. This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding of the parties. No waiver or modification of any of the terms of this Agreement shall be valid unless in writing and signed by each of the parties hereto.

7. In the event that any provision of this Agreement shall be declared invalid or unenforceable, such invalidity or unenforceability shall not affect the validity or unenforceability of the other provisions of this Agreement, it being hereby agreed that such provisions are severable and that this Agreement shall be construed in all respects as if such invalid or unenforceable provisions were omitted.

8. It is a material provision of this Agreement that Submitter represents to SPACETIME that he or she is over the age of 18 and fully authorized and capable of entering into this Agreement and being legally bound thereby. But for Submitter making this foregoing representation to SPACETIME, SPACETIME would not enter into the Agreement with Submitter.

ACCEPTED AND AGREED UPON BY SPACETIME.

BY POSTING IN THE THREAD BELOW, SUBMITTER AGREES TO BE FULLY BOUND BY THE FOREGOING TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

Description:

This palm tree grew in the Humanian Islands. Palm Tree (code-name), is an elf leader at the Elf Academy. She needed to defend the academy and Alterra and the Humanian islands. She needed to push the enemies out of Alterra. The enemies were currently fighting in the Humanian Islands. One day Palm Tree's weapon was broken in the middle of the battle. She needed a weapon fast and took one of the nearest palm trees. Luckily, her theory was right that some palm trees have magic and this particular one did. Palm Tree added more magic to the palm tree and used it, winning that battle. Since that day, that palm tree staff is the most powerful staff in Alterra.

This weapon could have a debuff proc. The debuff could debuff hit% or dodge or armor or critical. Etc.

Effects:

The weapon could have some sand or leaves or even coconuts flying around it. Or some magical mist or glow to show its power.

Item description: Our hero and adventure, Dr. Sellrep, has once again stumbled across another mighty weapon, after shooting down several sand witches that were summoning sand vyxnaars to attack him, he headed toward the jungle of inner humania. In an attempt to surprise our warrior, a sand dune he was walking over suddenly erupted. Despite the sand everywhere, Sellrep saw through his handy cyber goggles the evil sand pope rise up from the hole in the ground. So Jedi Master Sellrep punched the wizard pope in the face. But the staff caught his eye, such a unique item he thought, I must sell it to Hunzzz for 100 mil gold so i can finally get my oyster pearl set. So he grabbed the powerful item, it had a sturdy base and a symbolic sacred crest at the head. The crest was made of fine gold plating which the sand pope had stolen from the fallen prince, and in the center of the crest powerful glowing orbs spun around, Sellrep's infinite knowledge recognized these as the souls of Fridge, ...?... guy, and JustG. All this force in one magical weapon, the damage is unimaginable.

Biography:
Many years after the arrival of the first Alterrans to Humania, a little girl came to the island. She grew up accustomed to the island's milieu. When there was a gargantuant conflagration, many were left homeless with nothing. Thank god there was enough water to stop the fire from devouring the whole island! The girl had to move , a place called Nuri's Hallows. Every step she took to board the ship to Nuri's, was a painful one...away from home...all she had... On the way to the ship she saw a bright gem laying in the sand. It was the aquamarine. She did not realize its powers at that instance. To remember her dear home, she took the gem and glued it on a palm tree branch as a "relic." It incredibly transformed and became the first Aqua Staff. The gem began to glow and drip water out of nowhere! The palm branch became the bones of sharks! Never had anybod witnessed this. She vowed on her life to use it for good causes; and that is what she did. Nobody knows where the gem came from. Some say it was a gift from some kind of super-being that felt empathy for her.

Description: An elf placed a part of Humania's beach in an orb to remind her of the beauty of the coast when she had to move in-land. Because the beach was magical, it turned the orb that contained into a staff so the beach could still share it's magic with Alterra.

Reason for the name: The head of the staff is a Tiki Head. A scepter is an alternative name for a staff that sounds more appropriate for an island theme. Lastly, Kapua are a Hawaiin mythological group of demigods: "The divine tricksters or mischief-makers of Hawaii". The word alone gives a real island-like feel:p

Effect: I'd like the staff to have fire (like from the original pumpkin head and shield) inside the tiki's mouth where it's drawn in the picture.

Description: The scenery of Humania are islands. Water, palm trees, but what's missing? Tikis! The staff is a fire blast staff as tiki's are known nowadays as decorative light sources. It has a nice bamboo pole going through it to give it the full image of islands, and Humania.

Wthmon-this STAFF is called "The Palm Staff of Saints"! This is for the INT catagory.

The description about the staff is "A strong staff made by islanders, a good fanning tool to if I might add".

The staff is made of a palm tree, and has a coconut as a handle/decoration item on it.

Story created 15:06 HST, 5/1/12

It was a warm night in Humania. The tribe was having a celebration in honor of the princess Hainani marrying the Prince Ukumehame of the tribe to the west. It was the grandest feast that the land has ever seen. Everyone was there, even Kupuna, the grumpy old shaman that everyone respected but was uncomfortable around.

The moon was full and the air was calm. Torches illuminated the perimiter and the area of the celebration ground with a wonderful and warm intensity. It was a great time to be alive.

Kupuna made his way to the area of food and picked out his favorite dishes: Fish, kalua pork, poi and coconut shavings. He sat quietly by himself and ate his delcious meal all the while keeping a keen and watchful eye over the children playing. He would yell at them for running around carelessly but he loved them dearly.

He noticed one of the children staring at him. A little girl. He did not recognize her and she looked somewhat different than the rest of the children. She was smiling and happy but there seemed to be a dark billowing glow around her. He asked a passerby if he noticed the same thing but all he got was "you're crazy, old man!".

Meanwhile, up in the sky, something was happening. A rift in time and space was opening up. It was a portal to and from another dimension. A great beast appeared through and descended down towards the villagers and their celebration.

A great roar was heard.

The villagers screamed and ran like so many ants would do. The beast, with no rhyme or reason was destroying the villagers homes, smashing people and eating them and setting fire to the forests. Kupuna, completely stunned, was useless. He was supposed to be one of the protectors of the land but what could he do against such a monster?

He saw that the beast was eyeing the little girl that he noticed. Her screams of fear burned through his veins like so much acid. It invigorated his soul and spirit. He became angry. "NO LONGER", he decreed.

"But what can I use? I have nothing..."

The nearest thing to him was a tiki torch. "that'll do".

Kupuna began chanting: "UA MAU KE EA O KA AINA I KA PONO!" over and over again. The torch, enveloped in a blinding white light, transformed into a magical item.

Kupuna grabbed it and used it to create a magic barrier between the beast and the girl. He then used the torch to encapsulate her in a Cocoon of The Gods or as what we futures call, a hyperspace bubble. He then then blasted the beast with triumphant volleys of magical nuclear fusion enhanced fireballs. Whoa!

One by one each fireball went through the beast completely burning holes in it. The beast fell with a mighty roar and a mighty tumble. The beast was vanquished.

"JUSTICE...............IS SERVED" Yelled Kupuna and thus was born, Kupuna's Tiki Torch of Justice.

Whirlpool- Have a chance to pull the surrounding enemies in the target for a little bit and stunning them for a short time, much like Beckon but it is on the target not the user and it only pulls the enemy a little bit, there's large spinning bubbles on the target when this takes effect.

More Info: In the core of Humania, there's a powerful enchantress named "The Aqua Shaman" who guards the mystical treasures hidden in the island.
As time passes, the shaman grew old and weak, so, she puts all her power in her wand and her bracer and hid it in the core of the island before she died.
Those powerful artifacts now lies in the center of Humania guarded by her lost soul.

Description: To protect themselves from predators, a Blowfish can blow up it's body so it looks more fierce and thus scares off predators. The mages found out that the Blowfish also radiate an electric current when they inflate. Used above water, this transforms into a lightning beam. So the mages put 'em up on small palmtree branches to create an organic Blowfish wand that shoots lightning. When using this wand, the mage has a chance on an extra 3m area Lightning bonus... for blowing up the area!!

Description:
- Master the waves!
- Command the tides!
- It's time to finish this

Background:
The Elf Queen sent elves across to Humania to help in the advance to push the last horde of monsters from the lands of Alterra. Yet weaponless their efforts were worthless. Instead to help out they healed and cared for all the adventurers who were still fighting. Meanwhile elsewhere an elf had stumbled across a oversized pearl which had been thrown out of the sea and into her path. This was seemingly no ordinary pearl. The elf took the pearl back to show the other elves who agreed that the pearl could be used as a vessel for great magical power. Together with powerful enchantments they fashioned a staff born from the sea itself which when wielded would grant the beholder control of the seas themselves. With the staff in hand they went off to fight the hostiles and drive them back into the sea.

Further Details:
Atop the staff sits the largest pearl ever discovered which glistens in the bright sunlight emitting a golden aura around the staff. This is entwined by the twisted structure of vivid blue tone representing the rise and fall of the waves of the sea which is finished by the waves wrapping around the pearl to show the story of the pearl being thrown out by the sea.

Possible Effects:
- Spell cast to resemble a shimmering ball of water (similar to the style of a darkbolt staff spell effect)
- 'Smack' sound impact (just imagine the sound from getting hit by a water balloon)
- AOE
- Proc: Enemy slowed due to being weighed down with water
- Blue colour of the staff flowing up/down the staff in a wavy motion (like it is flowing upwards/downwards perhaps in a similar way to how some antennae look like the colors are pulsing)

Design Influences:
Drawing inspiration from the island aspect of Humania water seemed to be an ideal theme for my design. The pearl was chosen as it is one of the most sought after treasures the sea contains and it has a kind of magical feel about it with its perfectly spherical shape and it's pure white color.

In return for Humania's tribute of a thousand horses, Neptune Crafted this Magical Staff to help thwart their foes. Zeus also had a hand in the staffs creation, imbuing it with his power of lightning.*

The orbs of light are the same as the ones on the shock lances from AO2.

The staff is to resemble a trident, the side prongs connecting to form the bottom jawline of a shark, with the tip of the middle prong being a shark tooth. This would be a lightning staff, so it would have the same lightning proc of the in game staffs.

The "palms" that surround the very core of the scepter may look like ordinary leaves, but they have been been made to remain stiff as razors so that they cut your enemy like a hot knife through butter. They spin around the scepter almost like a weedwacker would look like... although you would not be cutting the grass in Humania. Last but not least, the ball of the scepter shoots a cloud of sparkles at the enemy, but if you look closer... it is not really sparkles... it is a cloud of sand which surprises your attackers and lowers their crit % on you, and increases your dodge momentarily. Story: An islander enchantress was quite unhappy with the current staves that everyone used. They were all imported from Forest Haven and simply did not reflect the culture of islanders. The wood from the imported staves were deciduous or pine when the island's source of wood were the tropical evergreen palms. Their magic orbs where of the elements of darkness and ice when the island is sunny and warm. The seriousness of the Forest Haven citizens were reflected in the staves, which were built for performance at an efficient cost, but the island had many things to enjoy, so a more ornamental staff was in order. She decided to embark on a quest to create the best island staff that encompassed the soul of her home and people. She also challenged herself to not just create a native staff, but a living one at that.

Many attempts were made to fuse palm saplings, water and sand together to become a magic channel, but they all failed. As she looked at her pile of wilted tree trunks, the enchantress knew she was missing something, yet wasn't sure what. One day, it dawned upon her that simple sand and simple water may not work. The magic needed to sustain a living staff has to come from a true elemental orb!

Getting both a water and sand orb was difficult enough, and she had to make a deal with the island spirits to receive them. They said, "If you promise that the orbs will be used for the betterment of the world and not for selfish reasons, then we will grant them to you. If you fail to do that, the orbs will be summoned back to the depths of the spirit realm and will never provide the water and sand for the physical realm again." The enchantress agreed, and infused the orb of water and the orb of sand to two intertwined palms.
She was very careful to watch after the staff for all her life. As generations have passed, the most responsible inherited the staff and the duty to use it for the forces of good. Holding this weapon is an honor, because it's not just a weapon, but a living creature too. The single leaf represents the unity of the parts of the staff and provides energy through photosynthesis. Inside the water orb, one can see the waves tossing and turning, and provides the life for the staff. The sand orb is the foundation for the roots of the palms, and provides stability for them.

Weapon Proc?: Because this staff lives and can bestow magic on its own, it has a small chance to root the enemy for 2 seconds

Possible effects: The blue orb contains an animation of waves tossing and turning and also glows a cerulean blue, the sand orb glows yellow. Also the texture is supposed to imitate palm bark, but I failed at drawing it lol.

This staff is considered as a great gift from Neptune, God of the Sea.

The first Humanian tribe was given a magical staff by King Neptune for their undying loyalty. The Humania will never be hungry again; just a simple strike of this staff on the water will command the fishes and other marine mammals to come and will be serve as their food.

This staff is so powerful that it is once used against the invaders. Hundreds of Evil Queen’s boats and vessels carrying thousands of her army are nearing the island. The first great elder don’t waste any moment and strike the water hard enough to cause numerous tidal waves and surround the island protecting it against any attack. The second strike command all the water creatures and sea monsters to destroy anyone who wants to invade Humania.

Evil Queen’s armies were almost wiped out so she decided to retreat but swear to gain more power and get revenge to Humania.

Aquatic Shellcane of Atlantis
Once, in the dangerous depths of a distant azure ocean, prospered the magnificent city of Atlantis. It was known for its prevailing balance and order: the Aquatic Keepers maintained the eternal state of calmness. These Keepers were carefully selected every decade in order to reinforce any weaknesses that appeared in their flourishing metropolis. For centuries, no, millennia, they managed to accomplish their purpose. However, on an ordinary day, an extraordinary young girl was born. Her hair consisted of the most beautiful weeds in the entire sea, her arms were covered with pearls and marine gems, but her most appealing aspect, was her tail. Only those chosen by the gods were rumored to obtain such a sparkling, finned tail, and soon she was worshipped throughout the entire district. Over the years, the girl slowly grew into a young woman; it was said that she gained additional beauty every single day.
It was no surprise when she was requested to join the legendary Aquatic Keepers. She accepted her position with honor and was assigned to the most important of all tasks: guarding the Shellcane, a staff forged from the essence of a thousand pearly seashells, bubbles emerging from its top, the core of the balanced community. If the cane were to be disrupted, a doom would descend upon the citizens of Atlantis, a fate too horrible to imagine. As time passed by, the woman seemed to grow more distant: she ceased to sing with her sensible voice, stopped greeting her dedicated worshippers that kissed the ground she walked on and retreated more and more into a realm of shadows, unreachable, untouchable.
Then one day, she was gone. She had left without notifying anyone, nor had she left anything behind. Her disappearance was noticed soon enough though. Instead of leaving something behind, she had taken something away, an object more precious than nature itself: the Aquatic Shellcane had been stolen. Alarmed, the Keepers rushed toward the city gates, but it was too late. Pillars collapsed, statues shattered on the ground, inhabitants screamed in terror, as a gigantic crevice opened beneath the city of Atlantis and swallowed the entire metropolis, once abundant in luxuries, freedom and order, now filled with chaos and death. As the Keepers looked up in their final moments, the woman smiled at them with disdain, and they realized that they - all of them - had been deceived by the demon’s beauty. From that moment on, Atlantis was merely a legend.
Having fulfilled her purpose, the demon disintegrated into a drop of pitch-black ink, leaving the Aquatic Shellcane of Atlantis on the ocean floor, never to be found again. Or at least, that is what they say. In the continent of Humania, fishermen have reported sightings of an evil mist lurking beneath the surface of the water, followed by a single bubble, exploding in mid-air. The bubble causes sudden loss of concentration, restricting the fishermen from pursuing the legendary staff, leaving them wondering whether it had only been a mirage. But perhaps, someday, a valiant magician might obtain the cane…

About the story

The ancient relics lying deep in the heart of the Humania can grant the heroes legendary powers.

when the heroes get the golden legendary weapon, they can conquer Humania , and make there to be peaceful...



Concept

It was not easy to come up with a concept with only a few pictures of Humania released, but I made the story based on the big frames of 'mega·lith', 'Shamanism', and also 'Humania island' on which the concept was drawn upon.

To be consistent with the main theme of "the relics of an ancient island", the weapon was made with gold.

Since it is as island, the weapon representing the sea, with some senses of shamanism added as well.

cf> I used oriental legendary creature to the symbol. Because It makes people to feel more mysterious !






About the weapon

A-Gu looks like an Ankou fish. The motif is based in Sea Devil Fish in somewhere of deep sea near Humania island. The head of staff is golden statue and the body is wood. According to legends, A-Gu use its big antenna to lure feed. Therefore, the antenna flashes.
Also, I want to make this staff to be more mysterious and looks anicent, so Its body has glyph(looks like Megalithis's face) and surrounded with water snake.

The effect

The staff's antenna always flashes.
With this staff, the attack type is lightning.
I hope that the golden part glitter like gold.

One idea I had was to make each weapon (or item) part of a larger group, so when combined (with 1 of each class at least in a group wielding the weapons or items), the weapons create an even more powerful effect (sort of like with Captain Planet and the 5 rings). I know this isn't the point of the contest, and that it might be a bit difficult to implement, but it was a neat idea that I thought could possibly be implemented later on if decided. This is the original idea I had for this:


Like the eye of Horus, these 3 weapons, when combined, create the most magical power of the islands in the fierce land of Humania!

They where discovered by accident and now are a force to be reckoned with!
With this GREAT trifecta, the wrath is MIGHTY and the battles are won!
For they are made up as the Eye, with its 6 components:

Touch, Taste, Hearing, Thought, Sight, Smell.

To achieve this mega force, you must win a GREAT battle and find these elusive and highly sought-after weapons!
