Judging
Entries will be judged by the Spacetime Studios Development Team. Equal weight will be applied to judging your visual design and your written descriptive component, so please spend time on both. You can include details about possible weapon procs or effects in your description. We’ll do our best to recreate those effects in game should you win.

Remember – all designs and art MUST be your own – created and submitted by you!



Submission Agreement

This is the agreement of SpaceTime Studios LLC, a Texas limited liability company located on the Internet at Spacetimestudios.com ("SPACETIME"), and you ("Submitter").

This Submission Agreement (the “Agreement”) is made and entered into as of the date of acceptance, as provided below, by Submitter.

The Submitter desires to furnish SPACETIME with one or more sets of source designs for Content (the "Content") for review and consideration for publication by SPACETIME, on, in, or in connection with SPACETIME’s online game now known as “Pocket Legends.”

It is a condition to SPACETIME's acceptance, consideration, and possible publication of the Content that Submitter agrees to the following terms and conditions:

1. Submitter acknowledges that SPACETIME is engaged in extensive research and development in many areas, including without limitation ongoing development of Pocket Legends and other games and communities, and other content for the consumer marketplace. Submitter further acknowledges that in the course of its business SPACETIME receives from others, including other submitters, its own employees and employees of its affiliates, numerous submissions of concepts, ideas, and designs for Content, and that SPACETIME may have developed or may in the future develop materials, or may have received or may in the future receive submissions of materials, similar or identical to those presented to SPACETIME by Submitter. Submitter understands that Submitter will not be entitled to any recognition or other consideration for any submitted materials nor will Submitter be entitled to recognition or consideration because of the use by SPACETIME or any of its affiliates of any such similar or identical material.

2. In the event that SPACETIME determines, in its sole discretion, that Content provided by Submitter may be added to, integrated into, or otherwise included in Pocket Legends and for related purposes, then Submitter will be deemed to have granted SPACETIME an irrevocable, exclusive, worldwide, royalty free, fully paid, right and license in and to the Content for purposes of use of Content in Pocket Legends, other products or services or SPACETIME, and for institutional purposes for and for the benefit of SPACETIME. The license includes all rights under copyright, and the full right to modify, edit, revise, or otherwise alter the Content. Submitter hereby waives all moral rights he or she may have in and to the Content. The license granted hereunder includes, without limitation, the right for SPACETIME to make derivative works based on or incorporating Submitter’s Content.

3. When and if SPACETIME utilizes Content, it will endeavor to provide recognition of Submitter on it Pocket Legends Internet Site; provided that failure to do so will not be a breach of this Agreement. Consideration of the Content by SPACETIME, and the recognition set forth in this Section, is the sum total of consideration to be provided to Submitter in connection with rights granted herein. SPACETIME will be under no further obligation to enter into a relationship with Submitter; however nothing in this Agreement shall preclude the parties from entering into future negotiations with respect to Content or further services from Submitter. SPACETIME shall have no obligation to return any Content to Submitter.

4. Submitter represents and warrants that (i) all Content is an original work of authorship created by Submitter; ; (ii) Submitter has the exclusive, unconditional right and authority to submit and/or convey to SPACETIME the Content and the rights granted herein, (iii) no use of Content as provided herein by SPACETIME or its designee(s) will infringe upon or violate the rights of any third party; (iv) Submitter has the right and authority to enter into this Agreement with SPACETIME and (v) no outstanding agreements exist, whether written or implied, which are inconsistent with any of the provisions of this Agreement.

5. This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas without giving effect to the conflicts of law principles thereof. Any action arising out of this Agreement will be brought only in the State of Federal courts located in Austin, Texas, and Submitter expressly consents to the exclusive jurisdiction of the foregoing courts. In addition to any recovery, the prevailing party in any action will be entitled to an award of its reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs in connection with any action.

6. This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding of the parties. No waiver or modification of any of the terms of this Agreement shall be valid unless in writing and signed by each of the parties hereto.

7. In the event that any provision of this Agreement shall be declared invalid or unenforceable, such invalidity or unenforceability shall not affect the validity or unenforceability of the other provisions of this Agreement, it being hereby agreed that such provisions are severable and that this Agreement shall be construed in all respects as if such invalid or unenforceable provisions were omitted.

8. It is a material provision of this Agreement that Submitter represents to SPACETIME that he or she is over the age of 18 and fully authorized and capable of entering into this Agreement and being legally bound thereby. But for Submitter making this foregoing representation to SPACETIME, SPACETIME would not enter into the Agreement with Submitter.

ACCEPTED AND AGREED UPON BY SPACETIME.

BY POSTING IN THE THREAD BELOW, SUBMITTER AGREES TO BE FULLY BOUND BY THE FOREGOING TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

Written description of the weapon. Tell us about it!

Surrounding the front with palm leaves gives any sharpshooter some camo as they hide amongst the palm leaves. A sturdy base reinforced with coconut shells leaves a sweet scent in the air for the user to enjoy as they demolish enemies. The launcher can be loaded with either stones or coconuts and is powered by the will to defeat your foes. A small parasol reminds the user of drinks on the beach while they are fighting enemies. Should the user be parted from the weapon, enemies may hesitate to even pick it up because of the fearsome face on both sides crafted through pyrogravure technique.

After consulting with traders travelling to the their lands, the residents heard about legendary snowball launching devices that could take down creatures made of snow and ice. They heard of people with pointed ears who pushed back icy invaders and, having their own lands being encroached upon, the islanders sacrificed trees to craft their own launchers. DON'T YOU TAKE MY HOMELAND!

Description: While out hunting for the Giant Swordfish of the Deep, the humanians traveled across the reef flat, scraping it with the bottom of their boat. In order to fend off the birds that were going for their bait, the humanians fashioned a slingshot out of the pieces of coral that they broke off, and thus, the Coralline slingshot of the reef was created.

Description:

Archer Leader P. Longbow at Archer's Accuracy Academy (AAA) was in need of a weapon. The enemies were approaching, and besides, he would be teaching archers how to make a bow and shoot it. An added plus, he would be teaching how to make it out of nature! Well he was in need of a weapon since a bad archer student stole his old one. The devious archer had run away and was nowhere to be found. Back to present time, P. Longbow pulled out a palm tree from the ground. His students gasped as he made some arrows and made string out of leaves and sand. Longbow put the string and tied it tight on the bow. Then he took an arrow and shot at a monster. He and his class cheered as they all gained an experience point. This bow is known to be the most powerful in the Humanian Islands. Even the most powerful in Alterra.

I think a fire proc would go well the sunlight glow around it.

Effects:

I thought it would be cool if there was a little glow around the bow, acting like sunlight, since it's made out of a palm tree and palm trees belong in the sun!

Description: This deadly weapon was constructed by the ranger, Sellrep, as he needed a sturdy weapon while crossing the beaches of Humania. He constructed it from the bodies of Sand Vyxnaars (summoned by Sand Witches ;D) that he had to rip apart with his bare bear paws. Little did he realize the soul leeching affect it would have on him and his rep.

Description: “I hope the spirits don’t haunt me!”

After roaming for an eternity in the seven seas, the Flying Dutchman finally made port reaching its ultimate destination: the legendary Eastern island, collectively known as Humania. Having travelled in the phantom ship as age passed indefinitely, the sailors’ vitalities had perished, turning them into lifeless, flesh-rotted, corporeal entities. Just as their lost souls started progressing onto the afterlife at long-last, the native Humanian’s found them and used their hardened bones as adequate crafting materials - making these sailors doomed to never find rest.

As a crossbow, the weapon will file bolts/arrows. The ammunition would ideally be ignited and released through the mouth of the skull. The curved-crossbones are into the skull via fractures and act as the limbs.

Biography:
Way back when, Balefort Castle was attacked by Goblins of Wyldwood, leaving helpless Alterrans. It was also a stormy day... A mendicant, lucky to be alive, was washed ashore to an island called Humania. He encountered some strange beings and was forced to flee to the other side of the island. Acting steadfastly, he imbuned his resources with the power of water. One of which was seaweed along the shore. He created the first Seaweed Auto-Crossbow and was invincible. A mendicant no more, but instead a legend.

Kanaleo, a warrior tiger shark, was a noble being. For generations he helped to protect the waters off of Humania. Strong and Intelligent, he, alongside the tribes on land would fend off mysterious attackers from land sea and even from the heavens itself.

As his time to leave this world grew near, he befriended a shaman from Humania who he simply called Kupuna. Being quite anti-social, Kupuna treated Kanaleo as a brother. They spent many days together swimming, fishing and telling each other stories of the past and of the great beyond. Kupuna and Kanaleo taught eachother magic. They became quite powerful. One day, Kanaleo informed Kupuna that his soul was ready to leave this realm for the beyond. But Kanaleo did not want to just leave Kupuna behind so he decided to infuse a large portion of his spirit energy within his body. He advised Kupuna that with his body, his vessel of existence in this realm, the possibility of a great weapon could be forged.

Kanaleo passed away soon afterwards and was preserved by magic. Kupuna, the lowliest shaman of the tribe was saddended greatly and for weeks he spent his time alone near the shores marinating in his sadness.

One day, Kanaleo sensed a great disturbance and almost immediately, a vision of his once great friend came to him and said "they are coming, forge my body into a weapon, my friend".

"Indeed", Kupuna commanded and began his work. He searched the woods and decided to use Koa, the choice of the elders. He found his way to a patch of Koa trees and let one of them pick him. "thank you", he professed. He cut down a large koa branch and began to cut and carve away and during many hours, his tears fell into the wood. He let his imagination and heart do the work and in a few days, he was done with the body and polished it to a glimmering luster. He added the obsidian gem because he kind of like how shiny it was. It did not really. It just added to the look.

Kupuna did not know how to merge Kanaleo's body and the weapon together but he would try anyway. He sat there at the beach for days. He sat there for weeks. He sat there for months. He began second guessing himself especially since that great disturbance had not come forth and seemed to have dissipated. Kupuna hardly ate. His family and few friends were worried about him but were shooed away by his grumpy demeaner. Kupuna grew weaker and weaker and on the day after a great storm, he woke up, sat up, walked to the shore and felt great! He turned around to find his body laying in the sand, dead. "great, I died". He thought. Moments after his realization, he knew what to do.

HE or his spirit was the catalyst of the weapon's creation. Kupuna let go of this ream and his energy went into the wood while Kanaelo's body and spirit energy transformed the weapon. It was meant to be. It became "Kupuna's Sharktooth Dagger of Mana" and was magically bolted into the air.

...centuries later, it was found.

Description: The bow would have a similar shape to gemstone recurves, altough the main body would be a row of white (shark) fangs, and there would be no gems.

Story:
Ones uppon a time, there was a really small elf, all the others called him tiny, because he was the smallest of them all.
One day he decided, that he no longer wants to be remembered as the smallest, but as something different (something positive).
He left his home and travelled for four days, until he reached the sea. He could swimm well, but he still couln't have swum to the opposite shore. He quickly collected some wood from the beach and built a small raft for himself. When he was half way trough the sea, a giant shark came from underwater and bit off the quarter of his raft. Until than he only thought that the stories about "The Great Shark" are just children stories to frighten young children, but now he realised that they are true. Tiny grabbed his sword and jumped into the icy water. None can remember how long he has fought with the shark, but some say it took a day.
He bested the shark and for proof he cut of it's head and brought it back to the elf village. From then on he was no longer called "Tiny", but "The Tinyfighter". The blacksmiths of the village also offered to craft a legendary bow out of the sharks fangs and so the: Tinyfighters sharkfang bow has been created...

More Info: There's a legendary surfer in humania called the "Hurricane" which is also the one of the protectors of humania, he created this bow from the elegant waves of Humania and endowed it from the force of the waves making it forced to be reckoned with. It can be found in the shores of humania right where the legendary surfer is, guarding the perfect waves of humania.
Effects: Drops water around the bow.
Proc: Normal Arrow-NORMAL ATTACK, longer range than the regular bows
Tidal Wave-Chance to hit the target and it's enemies around it and knocks it back, much like Stomp but with lower knockback distance and it comes from the target instead from the user.The slamming effect is blue, like the stomp of the Grizzlinator from the House of Pain, Nuri's Hollows

Description: The Cartilage Crossbow is made from the top part of a jaw of a Shark. They infest the waters surrounding Humania. Sharks don't have a bone skeletton, but one from Cartilage, a flexibel but strong material. Because it's flexible, the Archer is able to span the bow's string between the ends of the Shark's jaw. The base of the bow is made from the biggest of the Cartilage bones of the Shark, the one in it's back... this bow has your back!!

- From the depths of the sea

Background:
The Elf Queen sent many avians across the water to assist in the fight against the last horde of monsters that had plagued the lands of Alterra. Weaponless however their efforts were fruitless. Therefore to aid the fight they decided to gather food for all of the adventurers who had been sent across. Yet the barren lands of Humania did not yield food, so instead they sailed out into the ocean and cast their handwoven nets into the depths of the sea using their precision to locate themselves some fish. The next time they dragged up their nets from the seabed though they surprisingly found a squid entangled within. They pulled the creature aboard on which is began to sling oily ink in self-defence. Using some handcrafted harpoons the avians were able to restrain the squid yet it still unleashed copious amounts of ink. They decided to take the paralysed squid back to shore where one avian had an idea, to use the critter as a force for good by directing the ink projectiles towards the enemy and support the warriors in driving them back into the sea.

Further Details:
This is one unlucky deep-sea squid. Having been punctured by two harpoons locking two of its tentacles into a fixed position it then became entangled in a fishing net preventing all movement.

No arrows are required with this bow however because why use arrows when you have ink to blind and confuse your foes.

Possible Effects:
- Projectile effect to represent ink
- 'Splat' effect on impact along with enemies getting discoloured by the jet black ink
- AOE (well that ink splashes everywhere!)
- Proc: Blindness (stun for a few seconds)
- Front tentacles wriggling (maybe)

Design Influences:
If you've ever played a Mario game you may have noticed those annoying squid like creatures that splurt inky goop everywhere. Well taking that basic idea I fashioned this bow and gave it a vibrant colour scheme which is suited to a pacific island setting.

There was once a brave warrior from the forest haven, looking for refuge from silknight's army. After swimming the vast body of water between Alterra and the farway tropical islands in the distant, the brave warrior came into battle with a hammerhead shark. After winning the exhausting battle, the shark and the warrior washed up on the shores of Humania. To honor this unnamed warrior, the citizens of Humania transformed the shark into a weapon to be used by those experienced in the art of long range combat. The unnamed warrior served as a warning to Humania, of the oncoming evil forces on their way over from Alterra. This weapon was used to snipe invaders

The bow will have the same qualities of a crossbow. The glowing rings would be the same as on the galzyx staff or the wand of cosmos. The bow would have a bleed proc.

Hi! my name (on PL) is Oachiab and I decided to make my own set to enter into the competition. It is a three piece set with a sort of camo design that is colored blue and black. I designed it to glow dark blue when it is worn. Also there is a small little emblem which is two serpents twisting around each other. It is colored red and is on every piece of the set. It is made to raise all your stats even if you own the L65 longbow crafted Chiropetera set. It is sort of an island/sea based set that is completed with shark teeth lining the longbow and the helm. Written description of the weapon. Tell us about it!

Surrounding the front with palm leaves gives any sharpshooter some camo as they hide amongst the palm leaves. A sturdy base reinforced with coconut shells leaves a sweet scent in the air for the user to enjoy as they demolish enemies. The launcher can be loaded with either stones or coconuts and is powered by the will to defeat your foes. A small parasol reminds the user of drinks on the beach while they are fighting enemies. Should the user be parted from the weapon, enemies may hesitate to even pick it up because of the fearsome face on both sides crafted through pyrogravure technique.

After consulting with traders travelling to the their lands, the residents heard about legendary snowball launching devices that could take down creatures made of snow and ice. They heard of people with pointed ears who pushed back icy invaders and, having their own lands being encroached upon, the islanders sacrificed trees to craft their own launchers. DON'T YOU TAKE MY HOMELAND!

Looks similar to mine and I had the launcher idea too. Lol. Great art is alike. It's ok though since I'm entering a bow.

Written description of the weapon: Its basically similar to how Bart Simpson or Usopp use the slingshot. This one is made from an ancient tree that appears to be petrified (changed into a stony concretion by encrusting or replacing its original substance with a calcareous, siliceous, or other mineral deposit) making it very strong. It has a standard range like a bow but have a faster speed (0.6) being very light and easier to use compared to normal bows. I thought a black aura similar to the death set would make it look cool. I leave the other stats to the devs so it doesnt end up being IMBA =).

PROC: i thought a petrification effect (turned into stone for a few sec) would be very nice Or stun can also do the trick.

Story: A team of islander birds went on a hunting expedition to gather fish for their family. They went out often, in shabby boats, but their fishing skills were superb. This fateful trip was doomed, however, as a vicious and unexpected storm whipped up while they were in the middle of the ocean. Unable to row back to shore on time, the birds were tossed out into sea and their ship destroyed. The atmosphere was darker than shadows as furious waves drowned all but two. They managed to get a hold onto driftwood and they huddled together in awe of the storm and in fear of death. Miraculously, they washed up onto a large cay, and they scrambled inland as much as their waterlogged bodies would carry them. The two birds rested until morning.
At first, they were quite shy of each other because they never interacted even on the fishing trip. One was a mister pigeon and the other a miss dove. They quickly learned to work together to survive after discovering the island had no civilization. Over a month, they inevitably developed feelings over each other, and soon lived a sustainable life on the cay with coconuts, berries, and fish.
In his spare time, the pigeon crafted a bow out of the best materials he could find. His career outside of fishing was a weapon artisan, bows being his specialty. The limited amount of supplies posed a challenge never experienced before, but he managed to create a wonderful composite bow. He used palm tree wood as the core, bits of sinew from some animals, and pieces of clipped toenails from himself and the dove. He also used pieces of seashells to endow his bow with the phases of the moon so they could keep track of how long they were stuck. They were on the island a great stretch of time when the pigeon finally completed this bow, but it shot wonderfully with any stick that was pointed.
The dove asked him, "How did you color this bow to have such an enchanting blue hue?"
The pigeon replied, "With my tears of joy when I spend time with you."
Later, the birds discussed having a family after being rescued. Their hope enabled them to wake up every morning with a smile, and they provided intimate companionship for one another. A week later, the dove mysteriously fell ill, and the pigeon stressed over her for five days. He treated her with anything on the island that looked like medicine, but to no avail. The dove died in her sickness, and the pigeon's heart was shattered to pieces. He cried for days on end to the point where the moon itself took pity on him.
He had a dream where the dove descended from the moon and said, "You will be rescued, my love." The pigeon woke up and screamed his despair at the morning sky. "There is no purpose to being rescued," he thought, "when you, my dovey, are dead," and sat down hopelessly. Later, he buried the dove in the center of the island and placed a decorative arrow on the sand nearby.
Several months passed when a party of hooligans approached the cay with their new motorboat. They were somewhat drunk or stoned, and somehow docked on the cay. They laughed and giggled as they got off their motorboat, awkwardly feeling the sand with their feet and high-fiving each other. The pigeon suddenly leaped out from the undergrowth with his gleaming bow, and killed them all with precise movements and stone tipped arrows. He roared with malevolent laughter and hopped on the motorboat. He rode out into the distance still chuckling, and no one knows what happened to him to this day. The only thing that remains of him is the bow he crafted, found floating onto the mainland. Well, that's the most widespread legend behind the bow, anyway.

Story:
The stinger was crafted by an Archer of Al Terra. He was once attacked by this stingray when he was on his adventure.

A group of Humanian fishermen were on their daily routine when they encounter a stingray. The archer was also on the area as he saw the fishermen yelling for help. He manages to capture the stinger with his rope made of elven hair but he suffered paralysis as the stinger bite his leg. He was stunned and almost drowned on the water. The fishermen helped him and rushed to the island as he was nearing death. The Humanian doctor said that they can’t do anything for the archer, because the poison already stopped his heart and almost all over his system. But a sorceress came and said that there is way and the archer can survive but requires a living sacrifice. One of the attacked fishermen volunteers as a sign of his thanks to the archer. By using her magic, the sorceress transfers the poison from the Archer’s body to the volunteer.

The archer gained a second life and gave his thanks to the Humanian citizens who helped him especially to the sorceress and the fisherman who sacrificed his life for him.

He crafted the bow by using the rope made of elven hair as the bowstring and the teeth of the stingray as the head of the arrow.
The arrows will be stained dark with poison as it enters the stinger’s body and a single shot can cause an immediate paralysis and instant heart stoppage.

A liquid longbow crafted from the powerful currents found all along the coast of Humania.

Visual Effects: Glowing blue smoky aura with fizzy bubbles. (Bubbles float up and pop.)

Attack Effect: Similar to the attack effect on the Orcish's Wildfire Bow of Doom except in blue combined with fizzy sparkles similar to set bonus sparkles.

Inspiration: A fluid design that I believe would appeal to the PL community.

Description: This bow is said to have cleared the isles of golem-worshippers and their false deity.

Backstory: The isle of Humania has historically been a place of unrest. Long ago the island had a cult that believed those made of stone were meant to rule the lands. They rose up and tried to conquer the areas in the name of their stone gods. It wasn't until a great archer came upon the land wielding this powerful bow and begin slaying the golem worshippers where they stood, that these worshippers abandoned the land. Running scared of a fierce defender of the islands, the few that survived escaped to the mainland and have found shelter in the caves the with the rock-giants they worship.

The time of the great archer Spitfire came to pass and Humania is under siege again. We need all of the legends to help take back control of the island, this time from a bigger and more fierce enemy. It is rumored that Spitfire's Tiki Autocrossbow can still be found on the island, and may be the power we need to restore peace to the land.

when the heroes get the golden legendary weapon, they can conquer Humania , and make there to be peaceful...



Concept

It was not easy to come up with a concept with only a few pictures of Humania released, but I made the story based on the big frames of 'mega·lith', 'Shamanism', and also 'Humania island' on which the concept was drawn upon.

To be consistent with the main theme of "the relics of an ancient island", the weapon was made with gold.

The weapon representing the sky, with some senses of shamanism added as well.

About the weapon

Bong-Hwang is the oriental phoenix in leagend. I utilized this animal to symbolise the legendary being who was a bird(archer) of Alterra!
After a long time, people forgot Bong-Hwang. But legendary stories of Bong-Hwang are passed down from some wise men to the heroes in Alterra. finally, the heroes who want to get legendary power go to Humania island to find the relic of Bong-Hwang in legend.

The effect
Flame is coiling up from mouth of the golden bird.
With this launcher, the attack type is fireball (like a snowball launcher, but red, flame bullet)
I hope that the golden part glitter like gold.

I know that there is only 1 entry allowed per category, but for a couple of them, I couldn't quite decide on which one to submit, so I'm including both for each one, and the judges can choose which ones they want to accept.

One idea I had was to make each weapon (or item) part of a larger group, so when combined (with 1 of each class at least in a group wielding the weapons or items), the weapons create an even more powerful effect (sort of like with Captain Planet and the 5 rings). I know this isn't the point of the contest, and that it might be a bit difficult to implement, but it was a neat idea that I thought could possibly be implemented later on if decided. This is the original idea I had for this:
