best alternative for skratch staff and gun?

Hello, I'm a lvl 76 nab mage. I just wanted to ask if there's a good alternative for skratch staff and gun in dm and vg maps. Ebon weapons don't seem to work well for me (or maybe I'm using them wrong).

I'd recommend the tainted set. Is not very expensive and it gets you through the maps well enough. Get skills to kill at distance for those tough maps

Just get any other weapons that you think is good then unlock awaken slots and awaken very easily!
