For me it's not about the sketch. I just don't understand the concentrated effort to steer away from the forum.

Just because it's not said out loud doesn't mean it isn't being said.

Discord doesn't turn people out of the forums. Its just a better way to do things.
Ask a question in a discord group you will get an answer faster than asking one on forums. To add- you won't have to deal with *** hats in discord as in the forums if you post a thread asking a simple question everyone flames up and gets offended / mad then drama comes.
With the market. Its not really that different except its easier to get ahold of people in discord. Both have cons and pros. My discord has no chat in it, just info as stated.
Its a whole lot faster to join a server and have the info there than it is to search the forums for info. Almost every game has a discord. Why can't AL?

its basically advertising ur items to be sold

lets say u used up all ur slots and u have tons of more things what do u do ? stay up all night or put ur items somewhere for all to see and then wake up with dms saying id love to buy ur item

Lol... yeah this isn't anything dodgy... Just a marketplace listings on a discord server, so just like you would post something u want to sell in AH, Forums, Line etc but now it's on discord.

The unique side of this I suppose is the fact that If you play all the different STS games, you could join just 1 discord server.. so rather than just a AL side of forums or AL dedicated discord server... this seems more like an STS server (not actually made by STS before anyone gets confused =/ )

It's a nice idea... but when you have servers already dedicated for example to just AL (already i know of 2 or 3 now I think) an each have a fair amount of people on them already so would be hard-pressed to fill up a discord server with people when its USP isn't THAT alluring...

If this server was done like a year or 2 ago then would have had a much better chance of success IMO

There is actually "market place" bots on discord as a free tip u can find, tho after looking at them a little myself for my own guild's server, it wasn't worth how complicated it is for having essentially the same thing done using a well-formated post XD
