Return of the Forgotten Vanity Event - Suggestions for 2021

Huzzah!
In anticipation of the "Forgotten Vanity" event's return, I just went through all of the suggestions in the original event thread for last year's "Forgotten Vanity" mini-event.
With help from the team (that is otherwise hard at work on AL's upcoming expansion), I've put together a list of vanity item candidates based on those suggestions.

But so now wait...
A lot can change in a year.
Before I lock down the limited offerings that will be available for this year's Forgotten Vanity event, let's have another round of suggestions!
If you made a suggestion in the original thread (https://www.spacetimestudios.com/showthread.php?523354-Preview-The-Forgotten-Vanity-Event!) you can rest assured that the team and I have reviewed it :-)
Otherwise, cut loose here and let us know what you think.

For expectations' sake, I should be clear: the Forgotten Vanity event will likely be limited to fewer than ten (10) total vanity items (like last time).

For new suggestions / if you missed out last year, please note: the Forgotten Vanity event is when we offer vanity items that employ the looks of great-looking equipment that currently doesn't exist in a vanity form.
This event is not about bringing back rare vanity items, special event rewards, or items that are no longer in circulation.

Not sure if these are what you are looking for but I would like stuff from bosses or npcs. Not old gears that currently cost hundreds of millions or even some millions turned into vanity no one will wear. The only reason people like forerunner / cryer / heraldic so on is because they are ancient rare and expensive. You turn them to vanity then no one will want them. Its just the facts.

Would love to have the mythic bow level 31 for rogue as a vanity. Always wondered why this weapon never made it as a vanity!


Would love to see back heraldic as a vanity, but maybe preserve them as they fall into the ultra collectables. Something similar would be the soulhaunt set and the black version of this for rogue. I think it looks really nice and worthy! Demon Lord sets are also pretty sweet, and for the love of warriors, bring that warrior sword that's displayed on the stand to life!

I think having heraldic or forerunner come out as vanity is a bad idea unless we bring back vanity versions of kershal staff and so on to break collectables however what is a good idea is to add a recipe from the kraag vendor so that people with heraldic and forerunner/ founder can turn there's into a vanity version thus not destroying the collectables but making it so players have the option to wear as vanity that way it won't upset collectors and gives people what they want vanity versions of + it will give more use out of craft able matireals like could need not just arcane shards but the outher shards aswell as maybe magma and victus runes and arc fossles to make a use for them in game again [emoji44]

If they add the crier flurry forerunner heraldic and so on sets to this event then no one would wear them because they lose their value of being rare and antique. People have a silver forerunner set in the store for 25 plat thats been there for years, no one even wears it.

Some quick feedback on the feedback: stuff that only exists for NPCs and monsters is unlikely to be considered for this event because it doesn't fit the criteria (of existing stat equipment that currently doesn't exist as vanity). Requests to return stuff that already exists as a vanity ('specially a rare one) will be ignored like last time.

How about vanity shards @Cinco ?

It's clear that releasing stat equipments as wearable vanities is unfair. But how about converting already existing supply of stat equipments to a vanity with some sort of "vanity shard"?

Stat equipments offers a wide variety of combos and "cool" appearance since there are several hundreds of them plus their color-ways to choose from.

Yes. I understand the suggestion, and it's worth considering for the future. To clearly set expectations: a 'vanity shard' system is too large and too complex to fit in to the Forgotten Vanity mini-event. :-)

Back in 2013 we had a forum event where we were able to design our own banner. Which was granted to the player at the end. Maybe it would be nice when this can be done with vanity us creating our own vanity. Just an idea.

This was done a couple of years ago again for top 10 goblin event.

While I personally love the look of the crier, heraldic and forerunner sets, I think to bring them back for this event would do a disservice to those who ran hard for the journeyman (og and blue) vanities. I have neither of those as they always seem to happen while I’m on break (cue Ross). The black spider armor looks a lot similar but is not very preferable because it’s not rare. Let’s face it, the grass is greener on the other side and people keep wanting what they don’t/can’t have. I came back to the game a half a year ago and kept wanting new vanities. My favorite vanity combinations are all pretty achievable but still cute (though a ghost medusa set wouldn’t hurt). ;)

That said, absolutely agree with demonlord and poseidon sets, nordr jewel (lawd that’s prettyyyy and I’m not even a mage), entangled bow, dreamscape machetes (I’ve been saying this FOREVER), and the betrayer-looking sets (please bring the yellow epic version).

Good stuff so far! I'll be directing the Designers to review this entire thread in-depth before the final cut is made. I think this year's Forgotten Vanity event is gonna be lit! (no cap) :-)

Some quick feedback on the feedback: stuff that only exists for NPCs and monsters is unlikely to be considered for this event because it doesn't fit the criteria (of existing stat equipment that currently doesn't exist as vanity). Requests to return stuff that already exists as a vanity ('specially a rare one) will be ignored like last time.

I ll love to see the vanity version of spirit gears, Mityc dreamscape weapons, and planar weapons as vanities.

And I hope that the devs add a feature to turn sets into bundle vanities (not tredable) . I know that s a big issue but it will be very cool.
Only a full set should be converted in vanity consisting in a 2 piece set helm+armor vanity that also displayed the classic yellow rotating aura when both items are equipped.
Unlikely the normal sets , the effect is shown everywhere (not only in a particular zone) .
I just throw this like an idea for the future.

Last time we had this event we could just buy the vanity versions with event tokens, or loot them from bosses I think? There was no need for the original item.

Same thing happens in Birthday Event too - we can just buy the vanity versions of mythic weapons with Plats. As far as I remember, we only need the original items for Arcane weapon vanities like Maul of Ollerus, Immortal stuff, Ker'shal, etc., and the upgraded Mythic set.

Maybe elon bulwark vanity for war? Both rogues and sorcerrers already have it, and we poor warriors weren't included. Also what about elondrian and frost touched sword/daggers/staff using the old 2014 concept of elon/frost touched weapons. That's something I'd love to see there.
