Newbie question - skills

Hi all,

1 - What is the actual benefit to me raising a skill above 1? Because it doesn't seem to change the description. Seems really strange.

Specifically, why should I put more points into my warrior's "Heal" skill?

2 - Just to clarify is the order of items white -> orange -> green -> purple -> pink?

1 - It will increase either the power or time of the skill.

As for heal, I'm not a warrior expert but I dont think it is one of the most valuable skills.

The skill description shows a range. 1 point is the minimum range shown, and 5 points is the maximum. An example would be the heal you mentioned. It says it heals 8 - 40 health. So at level 1 it heals 8, then at level 2 it heals 16 up to level 5 where it heals 40.

i think heal is very useful.
it has saved my life many times in pvp and pve. (i'm not talking about mages)
