New... To PL

Hello,
A few days ago I started PL again, and I'm using a dex bear this time
I have a few question:
-Do crossbows give more range than regular bows?
-Should I use all points on dex, or should I use some in strength?
And why, does it seem that no one likes new players in low level PVP:( ?
Over a few days, I've seen lots of people saying "Kill the noob bear", "noob", etc.

Crossbows do give more range then regular bows and im not to sure about the Dex and str separation. Its not that people hate low lvl pvp bears its that they see bait and they want the kills, hoped i helped out a bit have fun Playing PL.

With my Dex bear, i have just enough strength to equip plate armor and strength weps and shield and the rest on dex. Although, debating on if i should change it up and go with leather armor and putting more points on dex since dex deals more damage. Decisions, decisions

dex bear is 150 str the rest dex at lvl 66
crossbow has more range
