Yup, this has been known for quite some time now.

Pallys, aka pallies or Paladins focus primarily on tanking/armor with some support skill focus in there as well, depending on the persons desired build.

*EDIT* Heres a link to the thread where the builders first discovered and discussed over two years ago:

Pally is the shortcut of Paladin which has been used since the legendary table-top RPG Dungeons and Dragon (Hella fun during those days). The class has been adopted by many games including Ragnarok Online, World of Warcraft, Diablo, Final Fantasy, Guild Wars, Ultima, and many more. It became one of the archetypes of structured builds together with your healer class, magic user, melee fighter, assassin DPS. Today, even if the game doesn't have a Paladin class, it is understood that any build that is customized to as a support-healer that has high survivability and mid to low tier damage can be referred to as a Paladin. So next time you play your game, when you see someone that has a build just like that, you can call him a Paladin. Oh and Paladins go by other names, some call it Melee-Healer, some Holy/Divine Knight, or any suffic/prefix that hints to Heavenly powers, but its generic name is Paladin. Hope that helped.
