Reputation!

Hello Gamers/Developers/Moderators,

Today I would like to address the movement of "Down With Reputation" as it's been decided that reputation is here to stay. Is there a way that we would be allowed to "Hide" our reputation. As in: No Bars, no thanks given and no thanks received. This way I can feel comfortable receiving reputation but not having to show it.

When it first happened that you could pay plat to boost your stats, I was bummed for half a minut. "anyone can pay for my stats!? Grr I worked for em yadayada"
Then the Taoism kicked in and I couldn't answer why I would care about it. Bam. Prob solved.
It's just a number, means little, some "earned" it and some worked the system.
Don't mean to sound trollish, but, why pay attention to it?

The only problem I have with reputation is the fact that people abuse the system. Use the thanks as a like instead of thumbs up.

Also, it causes many "Fluff" Guides, which buries the actual good guides that are needed.
That's why I said I want the option to hide it! I don't care about seeing it on the post that I like. I just want to be able to say. Hey im not gonna post for reputation in fact I don't want to show it to you.

Pa. I hate the posts where people post making fun of someone and getting reputation at someone else's expense.

Call me skeptical, but if it was removed there would still be some fluff/r u kidding me- posts for one reason or another.

Yeah there would still be "Fluff Guides" but people would think it through and not just post in hope of reputation points! (Also I myself is not above this( I caught myself doing it when I first joined)) Eliminating this would eliminate 75% of: Plagerism, Bring people down, fluff guides, bribing and false account making.

I thanks the posts in which I completely agree with, I find useful or impacts the thread, and gives people something to think about. I give out thanks to thinks I like as well, it isn't very often that a post makes me LOL. So I thank them.

Right and when I joined there was no rep, yet I posted crap and necro'd so that I would lose that pesky" novice" title or whatever it was. Didn't take rep to lure my noobishness into being annoying.

Meh, got tired of rep grubbers and title hogs (still tired of them) hoped it would get them to make a change for the better or leave if the rep system that is causing them went away. That's fine Art, like it said in the message, you don't have to send it if you don't want to.

Either way i'm on the app so I just ignore it most the time.

I recognize your angle, I have nothing against "Thanks" I have Somethin against people doing everything they can FOR thanks. This is why if I want to hide it... I want that option. I Like people who earn rep, make people laugh, (Heck That's how bank gets all his rep) just think that if I could hide it... It wouldn't be an issue to ME as a person.

I'm not against the movement I really liked the idea of it, and I haaate those threads that are made soley to get thanked. In my opinion I think the majority of those threads are made by our younger crowd. I want to support it for the reason that there are people who get caught up in it like it is a game. Like they are getting stats for talking down to people they don't even know. Yes, this is a website about a game lol, but people forget that they are talking to real people. They forget that this is suppose to be a friendly place for players to extend their gaming experience by interacting more with people they play their favorite game with. I never said I disagreed with you wanting to take the option off, that would actually be a nice public statement for your movement. <3
