Wow, was that 35 years ago that Mom, Dad, me and my brother and sister went to the Big Bear drive-in theater and watched that new sci-fi film? Yes, I'm old enough to have seen the original in the theater. Anyone else?

If you're on the interwebs today, Mashable is doing a live event http://mashable.com/2012/05/24/star-wars-anniversary-event/

Also, Wired has a fun retrospective about how the remakes didn't do it justice (and some interesting history) http://www.wired.com/underwire/2012/05/opinion-starwars/

Happy Birthday Star Wars!

I went to the opening in my town. It rained, but I waited two hours to get into the first showing. Of course, nobody wore costumes for that one. ;)

In honor of this special occasion, I invite you to watch this video. It's ALL of the big names is cartoon voice acting, reading through the star wars script. It is hilarious to hear pinky and the brain, entire futurama cast, drawn together, ninja turtles, Spongebob, adventure time, animaniacs, Ren and Stimpy, Porky the pig, and all sorts of other awesome characters read through the script.

Warning: There are a few "naughty" words in here, but freaking hilarious.

Happy Birthday Star Wars!

I was told that I had been brought to see the original movie, but I was still in diapers and have no recollection, lol.

It's ironic you didn't have Star Wars vanities.

I mean, I love you devs, foreverandeverandeverandever for the Star Trek vanities. but still.

And what happened to Doctor Who?? :O

Darn right!!! Saw it three times in the theater. Grew out of collecting the action figures before Return of the Jedi, but I had a pretty boss collection! :D (Hoth Leia was a favorite)

P.S. Speaking as someone who was "there"... Han shot first. ;)
