Read my words closely. Pay to win is ok but pay to play is not. 2 week event that is only playable by using plat isn't a good move, 1 week we wouldn't care as much but 2 weeks..
Don't make your game pay to play please.
What I suggest on change is make elixirs nontradeable, you have a 10 plat elixir and a 100k gold elixir. I am fine if it costs to enter but make it gold accessable in a fair price. I understand we had marvelous free to enter the entire 1 week event.
Most games if they want to make money do a strat and honestly I spent money on a game because of this. They have gems as a secondary currency (costs money) which can allow you to buy items etc game is 100% free to play meaning 999+$ won't get you anywhere but they have bags for more inventory space you have to pay for. You don't need them but they help a ton so I spent 20$ and got them. Dungeon defenders 2.
Have something people don't have to have but they really want which makes game play easier and make it cost money. Its not pay to win or pay to play.

hahaha I waited very eagerly to play this event and that 10 plat be paid to play it seems very silly to me, these are boring.

100k gold to enter a map which gives u 15 tokens is nonsense even if it lasts for 1h.

Im not here to argue with you, just to catch devs attention that they are chose the wrong way to release a 2 week long event this time.
Oh demand, do you think these vanities are going to be on a big demand? Even the freely obtainable ones are much more cooler in design from the past events.
If they gonna make the new expansion like this way, many player gonna leave behind this game, finally.

This is the first time they have introduced such an event to AL.
They are experimenting like they did in PL .,which led to its downfall. .But why?
People do spend plat instantaneously on good content like Jupiter fury wherein all sold within a nanosecond.
It is evidently a bad move to do this to an event which previously didn't work this way.
I get its such an event as a break and you decided to try this format of pay to PLAY.
I hope this does not continue .Ty

My perspective, the vanity so ugly. Why I would do the event and buy the elixir just to farm token and buy that ugly vanity? Even there is chance to get loots from the event, I don't think the loots are promising enough. So, better I just rest for 2 weeks and wait for the expansion or another event.

Yes, and its called profit. Its good from their perspective, but really bad from an average players pov this time.

Erm..so all that grinding to get 250 plat was to be used to play in this event?
Players deserved that reward, it wasn't free it was earned.
I've played for a very long time and to be honest if this was April 1st, I would have thought it was a good joke.
The vanities, especially for the rogue are awful. The shades are good, the water aura would make a good addition to a house but that's about it.
It's not worth paying to enter. I'm sorry but it's a bad idea and although I do buy plat and have in the past defended the developers, I have to agree with the majority of players who don't like this idea.

May be you forgot for those 250 plats players farmed for like 30-50 hours in a week which equals 25 entry of this event which drops nothing at all there are no good loot from event just vanities people farmed marvel’s 128k points because it had plat as reward not for the vanities.
And yes sadist
Dev created the game
We players made it what it is
A game isn’t anything without players
A plat spender is equal to free to player
How
Not a single player will invest there real money if he doesn’t Have anyone to show of to in game.

Sure enough i logged in to just check if this wasnt some troll but nope either 150k gold (which is alot of gold for the less wealthy) or just fork out 10 plat a go for loot that may not even be worth anything.. what the h... is wrong with sts, the game i grew up playing has sank so far down..? I remember the outrage when the first energy event was announced and now people are seriously accepting this?
Using the excuse of you get 'free' 250 plat to use on a event thats supposed to be atleast enegry based is just pathetic, plat shouldnt be a cost to entry to a event.. nobody will go 'oh boy i farmed 250 plat lemme spend on it a cost to enter a event' like what. If we dont push this back now they will just keep raising the bar on whats acceptable
Please i know alot of you have rose tinted glasses on and see this all as fine and AL has a unique position that it can get away with alot of stuff it shouldnt (locks being the primary way of getting the best gear for example) where other companies can only dream off..
Its honestly just sad to see what this game has stepped down too

if sts is trying to wean me out of this game, its working, I can finally take a sigh of relief, they should continue down this path, its a good measure to curb addiction.

But even if they introduce the option to buy the elix for 100k or some other in-game currency or token, it would still be much expensive to run this event considering how many tokens you get per run. Even energy events are favorable over this one as energy can be farmed for free...

What is even the point of this event? The drops arent worth and the vanities are tradeable and theyre way cheaper for gold the locks are like 5k in auc theres nothing to farm this event its useless

There's no way a plat only event can be good for the game. I didn't even do one run as there's no way to even get into the event without a plat lix.
Recent temple event was for the OP geared people and with my endless set barely making it to wave 10, it was just sit and cheer. The the marvelous event was good for those who had the time to do 2400 runs, it just wasn't really for me either. Now this beach event I was looking foward to, but again I'm sitting. Somethings just not right here!
