apk keeps pushing to my kindle fire

Even after a complete uninstall I keep getting the installation apk pushed to my Kindle Fire. Why? I turned off push notifications on my fire and my phone... on my phone updates come as normal, perhaps because I installed from play. The fire install is straight from STS. Also, I have SL and PL but not the same issue with them.
