There are no limits. Gold loot is one of those things that make a difference but visually it seems like there isn't a difference here is why.
You have a base drop say 1-5k with 0gl awa pets etc. 100% makes it 2-10k, 200% makes it 3-15k, 300% makes it 4-20k and so on. Very rarely will you get a max drop and the ranges are always the same just a higher maximum and a slight higher minimum so you will loot in between just about every time which makes you think there is a cap when there isn't.
You got 800gl looting at max 40k per and min 8k per whilst 900gl is 45k max per and 9k min per. You will most of the time loot in ranges of 15-35k with both 800 and 900gl so thats what makes it seem like gl does nothing when it does improve. Higher gl is always better.

1825% gl is the max that anyone can have in the current stage

Also this is unrealistic, because any piece described above will sell over 5 billion easy

Agreed that it's really simple logic/math.

From 0gl to 500gl/800gl/1000gl
= helps boosts gold drop crazily (we feel it)

From 500gl to 800gl
From 800gl to 1000gl
= we don't see huge increase.

Unlike stacking damage reduction and haste, which have diminishing returns at a certain percentage, gold drop on the other hand is directly proportional to your gold loot with no limit.

Since it is directly proportional, it'll form a linear regression when plotted.

You don't benefit less with more gold loot, unlike how SDR and haste significantly reduces returns beyond 70%.

Yes there would be certain points where the cost of gl gear as against the gl increase you are getting may not seem fair (e.g. 20m for greed and 90m for ava for a 100gl increase only). I would say this point lies at around 300gl-600gl. Beyond this range, you'd be looking at spending incredibly exponentially where it would seem that it won't be worth it, especially if you don't grind as hard. So piece of advice, for those not planning to run 24h in evg or dm, just stick with 400gl-500gl then you'll be fine.
