Before some of the older users come in here and attack you, the actual song you're singing is Forever Young by Alphaville. It's from the 1980's. Whoever "1D" is, they just did a cover of it, much like yourself.

Still considered a cover. Just listened to the One Direction version. They changed the song style from synthpop to radio pop to appeal to the younger crowd. Vocals are the same as far as I can tell.
