Maybe I am being a bit of a dummy here but I am wanting to figure out the precise or close to precise armor value per level without doing the max armor back and forth thing and I am stuck.
I have 0 armor and I am level 76 so I take 450 consistent damage with 0 damage reduction from a purple mog mob. If you take max damage reduction from armor being 80% so do 450 times 0.20 you will get 90. Which 8,215 is the armor cap for 76 and it gives me 90 damage intake.

Now say if I am level 76; I have 6,456 armor (random value below 80% reduct value) and I don't know the armor cap to 76 which is 8,215.

With 6,456 armor I intake 168 damage out of 450 which 168/450 = 0.373333 and that means I have 62.6666% damage reduction. ((1-0.373333)*100).
Now what I know is I am level 76 with 6,456 armor which is 62.6666% damage reduction and the max damage reduction is 80%. What do I do with these number to get me an answer of 8,215 armor as the answer to the armor cap?

The purple mob dot from mogera inflicts 452 dmg. U probably have some damage reduction sources.

Anyway, the same enemy inficts 452 initial dmg. With 1540 armor, it inflicts 384 damage.

Input the values, and u get an armor modifier of 0.0000976899.

To obtain the Armor cap, 80% armor reduction(since 80% is the cap armor can absorb) is divided by Armor Modifier

0.8/0.0000976899 = 8189

Theoretical Value = 8189
Actual Value = 8215

Results to (8189/8215)*100 = 99.68% accuracy

Now, lets apply this to ur scenario. 6,456 armor inflicts 168 dmg. Some magic applied, you'll get an armor modifer of 0.0000973232

0.8/0.0000973232 = 8220

Yeilds an accuracy of 99.94%

The bigger the value of ur variables, the more accurate results you'll get.

I guess its off by 0.32% because where al has hidden decimals the enemy hits for. So I recalculated adding decimals and got.
say if the enemy base damage is 451.748.
(1-(384/451.748))/1540 = 0.00009738316
0.8/0.00009738316 = 8214.97269138
If only we could see the decimals dmg enemies do. But I guess I should stick to getting an estimation value by doing max armor min armor etc.
Ty, I was wondering why I could not logically find a way to get a precise input. I was usually told those numbers round up but I guess they don't.

Hidden decimal as well as values rounded to the nearest whole number. At the end, you'll never land on the actual armor value cuz of these factors. However, the current forumula's are accurate enough.
