Arlor Halloween 2021 | Day of the Undead



Could it be a Halloween curse, or some other nefarious plot at work? We're not sure, but Halloween 2021 is here and Necropolis is brimming with a terrifying scourge of undead. It's up to you to stop it! Explore the new Haunted Mansion zone and defeat the Oligarch for handsome rewards like vanities and other goodies.

This event begins Thursday, October 14th, at approximately 1:30 PM CST. It will run for three (3) spooky weeks, with a 3 day cooldown.

How it Works

The Halloween Event is an energy-based event. Spend energy points to enter the boss zone and defeat Necropolis monsters to progress through the event tiers and earn tokens to redeem for the Token Vendor's stash of Halloween goodies.

You can get to Necropolis either from the main map or by talking to the Necropolis Gatekeeper.

You will also find the portal to the Event Zone. This requires energy to enter:

Once inside you are prompted to purchase a Bane Item that will vastly help in this area. Past years' Bane Item will work here too:

Make your way through, cutting down enemies until you reach a final boss battle:

On occasion, defeating this boss will open a separate portal to the haunted Oligarch's Mansion.

If you remember Boogie, the Oligarch has a similar entrance requirement. You don't just waltz into his home empty handed. You must bring one 2021 Necropolis Candy Bag if you want the chance to explore his hallowed halls.

Collect the Candy Bars that drop from mobs all around Arlor and craft them into Candy bags to open the way to the Oligarch's Mansion.

Oligarch's Mansion

The Oligarch is anything but hospitable. To reach him you'll have to wander the halls of his opulent mansion, avoiding traps that will damage, slow, and stun you, all while cutting down the zombie hoard that's taken up residence inside.

Defeat The Oligarch, and you'll receive The Oligarch's Bag 2021, a special event chest that has a chance to drop a whole slew of Halloween vanities. Opening this bag gives you a chance to loot:

Charged Attacks have a chance to summon "Zodias Rage" a defensive buff that increases Armor and Health.
When this buff is active standard attacks will apply a debuff that reduces the target's Armor and Speed.

Sorcerer's Staff - "Aquaris the Timeless"

Chance to summon a powerful "Seaweed Shield" aura from the ocean depths!
The Sorcerer that commands Aquaris the Timeless will receive a significant increase to damage, health, armor and speed when they stand at the center of the Seaweed Shield!

Sorcerer's Cannon - "Hyperos the Destroyer"

Charged attacks have a chance to apply "Mark of the Deep Ones" to reduce armor and speed!
Subsequent charged attacks can apply *PRESSURE CRUSH* that does significant extra damage. Follow-up with normal attacks for *DEEP SQUEEZE* bonus damage.

Warrior's Sword - "Neptaris the Vengeful"

Strike your target for a chance to summon an armor-eating "Eel Swarm" from the ocean depths!
Deliver a Charged Attack on a target afflicted with "Eel Swarm" to MARK the target. All subsequent standard attacks will apply EEL SHOCK to the target which does significant bonus damage with each strike.

Warrior's Sword and Shield - "Polaris the Immortal"

Chance to summon a powerful "Vortex" aura from the ocean depths!
Enemies in the Vortex endure a Movement Speed and Armor Debuff. Deliver a Charged Attack on an enemy within the Vortex aura to *DROWN!* the target for substantial additional damage!


Zombie Pumpkin Chests have a chance to drop:

- Epic and Legendary Equipment
- Leto's Egg (Mythic)
- Gold
- Ankhs
- Energy

Plat Store

- Limited quantities of "Locked Crate of the Dead" can be found in the store during the event.

- On October 23rd and 24th only you can purchase a limited quanity of trade-friendly Mutated Aura vanities.

OH look weapons behind locked crates xD..not even a slight chance to get one boss like para or the new one you all put.. everything good to get( i hope it is) always p2w then you think why you losing players after the disaster of expansion "fixes"... you all still dont get must of the problem is the skill all charatercs have its bad for late game you all need to come with new skill combine some that we got and make others to late game! The answer to your first question is - the shield buff stays with the Sorcerer as they move. It only affects the Sorcerer; it is not a 'friendly effect' aura (just the caster).

Mutated aura color is perfect and I refuse to change it. We do not have enough green. I am investing all of my designs in "green" from now on. No cap.

Artifacts follow a level differential pattern that has been in place since the event was created :-)

I like new event boss portal, but maybe you should have kept boogie too! He is a tradition for halloween!

Maybe boogie bags with weaker goodies and the other zone with better rewards?

2 portals with 2 different token entrance should be fun

I was expecting more gears other than just weapons (for zodias maps).
Maybe set items working only in zodias maps
Not a fan of new vanity weapons at all and the aura is ok the design.

Leaderbord rewards not much exiting either personally but hopefully lb runners will, gl everyone!

Maps are too hard to be farmed
Gold drop is not good enough to replace old maps
Items we can loot from new maps arent good enough to keep players running them

More than a complain is a question to understand what's your plans with it, because it is literally unused expansion, and it never happened before

There are currently no plans to celebrate 'Day of the Dead' in Arlor. Now that we have come to the end of Halloween event development we are diving directly into the next major event(s) to finish out 2021! :-)

The Platinum Tier awards are the trade-friendly 3X Pull Locked Crates (and 25 Crate keys to supplement your opening).

Don't know if I'll have time to update the post - but I would strongly recommend looking at the in-game guide for the exact items you get for each tier and for LB

I was looking forward to this year's event, and I was planning on running the Top5 as well, seeing as Halloween is considered a major event that always has more than just the typical prizes.

I'm disappointed that they had to remove the lb's aura rather than the store-bought ones. There isn't even a title nor badge. And what's with the pointless anhks and jewels that are still being distributed?

Not to mention that the event is three weeks long this time around, which is a waste of time when the token vendor rewards are bound and the lackluster leaderboard rewards simply translate to low competition.

There hasn't been much to do in game the last few months. Deepmarsh is still the most popular map, EVG was nerfered when the long-awaited expansion doesn't even cater anything long-term making it dead as soon as it released.

Furthermore, there is no constant flow of achievements to complete since S20 - there are already hundreds of max APs players and counting.

The top 5 rewards need major improvements. I personally can’t see anyone grinding hard for 3 weeks just for those rewards. The vanities for the top 5 look like something everyone would have, they don’t look impressive (in my opinion). I personally would prefer the Mutated Resident sets to be for the top 5 and the Operative Resident sets in the event shop.

20% Armor is definitely better. Lots of pets have 20% dmg. 20% armor and 20% dmg would make for a wonderful happiness bonus.

Considering the pet is most likely going to be “rare” (it’s a prize for the top 5, so it’s probably not going to be looted often) it should be an OP pet. With the new maps most players could use more armor and damage. I know I can! ;p

I still don't understand why vendors still work like this, lb runners can't get items for alts even tho they have more than enough tokens, players with undergeared alt characters can't buy items for their alts unless they farm with them, players who basically may like the design of "x" item can't get it unless they farm with a character different from their main.

Pretty sad as well that there's not a single pet in token vendor, Halloween is supposed to be a major event, nonetheless the vendor is pretty underwhelming.

Agreed, Oligarch bag should less drop vanities, total vanities drop already covered all the entire population I think, I opened 10 and like 7 drop vanities. Change it to drop more gold or more token or add small amount of plat to drop from it would be great. Thanks STS.

It's a bit late but for clarification is the vendor vanity the same as the leader board vanity? Or is it the same as the oligarch dropped vanity.. it displays as the oligarch vanity but the name is the same as listed on LB. If it is one way or the other it needs to either have a name adjustment or display adjustment. Also if it is the same as the oligarch dropped vanity then I think this is by far the worst event since I've been here in 2013. I know many like myself look forward to Halloween event and Christmas event. This so far is worst Halloween event. Please clarify the vendor vanity.
