The red zone cone shape does not show the true range of the breath attack. It should be made larger because he can practically reach yo halfway across the room.

This was affecting me also,
The cone is small but if you are in front of him when he does that you will die if your outside the cone and in front of it
as if his actual cone is much larger than displayed by the red zone
