Anyone who ran previous events or knows
a bit intel about the worst case scenario
(very good reward for top 5/10) and how many
energy kits that one must prepare for it?

Estimation calculation would be total points ÷ average run in pts.
Average run is: add up all points from the bosses and divide by how many bosses there are. Green portal boss can be added since its probably ran every chance a lb player gets I would say divide it by 2 for more accurate results. Not sure.

Had a friend who used to run lb as a mage, he showed me his inverory and stashes and it was insane how much energy he had. He didnt keep them on his main because it was pretty much pointless for him to waste space so he had an extra character just for storing energy. So basically sayjng you need a character full and a stash full. he dont play anymore since this was awhile back but he was a lb runner only. Edit: he would take energy out of his stash once event is about to start

A few thousand energy, or a lot of free time to farm hauntlet, or a mix of a lot of energy and a lot of hauntlet farms. Depends how hard you're trying to go and how hard you know others will go for it. 2021 halloween top 5 war only took a bit over 1k kits plus hauntlet farms, wasnt super hard but takes a lot of time in your day. I.e. 12-16hrs most days of event.

2021 Goblin event was very competitive. Used up 5.5k kits for Top10 and the whole top50 for all classes used up 4.5-5k kits.
200 were bought on the first day just so that I can grind up to plat tier right away, and the rest were crafted. Played an average of 12hrs daily for 2 weeks.

I played 8-23hrs per day
Spent around 5k plats, if u want to run less then it will be probably around 10k plats or around 500-600m maybe?
-Ursoth was much easier and got top 25 with just 75m gold
Ran around 4-10hr per day
Pretty sure I coulda gotten top 10 with 300-400m gold and 8-16hrs per day
The hardest part of lb is giving up your sleep.
If the event become really popular because of good vanities/aura rewards then hours per day can reach up to 15-20+ hours per day to stay on top 10 or top 5. Gold can reach up to like 900m or tons of plats (if you dont run as much hours!).

Depends on lb rewards, the better the prizes the more competition.
Most my energies the first week was farmed running for abt 16_22h a day ;-; was the start of curfew here had none to do

Maybe everyone farm differently, but i would imagine
top 5 wont have any time to farm huantlet or anywhere else
to reduce the overall cost by using more crafted

I do agree temple event was heavly based on skill and combo
but now, its mostly just gear, sad to say

I play an event lb about every 1-2 years. I usually buy energy from auction during the event so I dont remember how many I have used. Last lb I played was goblin event on hardcore mode and barely spent 800 plats to skip energy crafting.
About challenge... I have a few friends who literally do not play any AL regularly (or games in general) anymore but do an event lb once a year to have some time off all responsibilty. I'd say they are high-achieving individuals - both in life and work. Yet, they spend 2 weeks/a year in the game to talk to old friends on discord, check how the game evolves and feel a blast of nostalgia. I plan to do so at some point aswell. Later on when I do not feel like I should spend time regularly on AL anymore. I'm sure some event-lb-runners have a nice chuckle to be called out as "No-lifers", ironically, by people who play daily.

1500+ energy should give you a good start when the prizes are good. The rest just craft.
Anyway I think at some point it becomes a sunk cost fallacy, and from their perspective there's no turning back, that's what keep them going [emoji28]. Respect to event runners though. I couldn't do it unless you paid me with real money.
What's shocking to me though, is the number of people who ran the goblin event never wearing anything from that event. No badge, no aura, nothing. Lol I'd proudly wear that aura EVERYWHERE regardless of how bad it matches my vanity

Now a days think about 4k energies, whereas you can craft about 1/3rd by just free ones which drop. So in total 5-5.5k

It's a lot of platinum, but more so time investment. Some people do it legit and sleep 4-6h a day. Those that are running 23-24h/day for 2 weeks you know it was probabaly a brother or sister.
