Problem with quest (bug i think)

I got this quest Safe Travels were you need to find smith if you enter the magic gate,...
I enter the gate en there you see smith standing in the begin. I talk to him en says ellie looking for you,..
Than he say that he dont got time blabala because of zombies ?? end of talk quest not completed ? what now

Yes I had this same issue. The quest is not functioning properly for me either. I have abandoned it and restarted and still nothing.
