Maybe a little context would help me understand what you're asking? I'm not quite sure how this would be useful unless it was limited to only being usable when you are online. I won't be able to say you're online when you're not. Maybe, if you're logged in, a status setting where you can be unavailable (no tells, joins, etc.) or online?

A way where we can be online but not visable, just sucks sometimes when I log on and instantly get 10 pms about stuff and spam pted for help when I just want to run a map or chat with 1 person.

Not sure what "spam pted" is, but it sounds like you just want a "No PMs" option? If so, there is a "Reject public tells" option in the options menu.

I believe what they want is an “inkognito” feature. Be online but appear offline to players who have you on the friend list.

Hi Mr dev .
I suggest to help out fellow players issue . You could consider an option in which when they get online
Only favorited friends can actually see them as online . So they do not get an overwhelming messages
. I think this feature could be named incognito and be placed in settings .
This will make there life's easier . As they could have many friends and can get there work done in peace when they need to
Yours truly
Happydino :)

Yes, incognito feature. As mentioned here would be great.

What’s the point of this useless feature. There is option to “Auto Ignore Tells” Ignore Player”, or even “Unfriend”. This isn’t necessary at all.

What’s the point of this useless feature. There is option to “Auto Ignore Tells” Ignore Player”, or even “Unfriend”. This isn’t necessary at all.Consider this scenario. You want to farm mausoleum for 4 hours straight without any interruptions. However 2-3 of your very close friends keep sending you pms abt stuff. You cant not reply to them since they are very close, so your intention of running mausoleum peacefully is not fulfilled.However with this feature, it is possible!!

For @asommers if you still arent clear with what op is trying to establish, basically "ghost mode" which means you appear offline to everyone(maybe an option to exclude favourites) even when you are online.

Yes you can, you can tell them you’ll talk later.

To me this just looks like a good excuse to scam others by being more discreet for “friends” to lend people their items and then they turn on “ghost mode” and never give them back XD. It’s just an example obviously if you lend “friends” your items that’s your own fault.

Not really, they kind of ignore the "I am busy farming maps man I can talk later." message and I get around 10 people pming me at once often. I can tell people I am busy but more will pm or they ignore that I said I am busy.

As for the scammer thing, scammers unfriend and leave after getting the items. Ghost mode isn't going to help them much considering that they will only be able to solo maps and not be able to join towns for the remainder of their game play.
The only issue I see with ghost mode is how are we going to hide from people? Like are we going to be able to join towns and be unseen? In pve maps you can be in a ghost pt but towns you can't.

How about just an option to ignore all tells? The PM originator will see "This player is busy and cannot receive tells right now" or something similar.

I don't want to deal with all of the edge cases of hiding players on other clients.

I say this can work, but instead make it where only spouse and hearted friends can message.

After rereading this thread, sounds like we want to add an option (drop down) to allow PMs from:
* All (everyone, default)
* Friends/Guild (existing reject public tells option)
* Favorited (hearted friends)
* None (no one)

Unfortunately, you can't ignore your spouse, so your spouse will always be able to PM you.

"Reject public tells" would go away (which is basically anyone that's not your spouse, friends, or guild mates).

+1. If I misunderstood, it would be great to have an option to reject any Pm from anyone, except my wife.

Make a setting that allows your character/account to appear offline or online when you want
