Swappable weapon Special abilities

I thought it might be really fun if you could slot weapons similar to how you can slot pet eggs. Would be fun say if someone loves the ability of a weapon but since it's low level it's obsolete. The could slot weapons into special ability slot. Just a random thought. Or even crazier make it so you can slot one additional wep and recieve it's special ability on top of the original. Let me know what you guys think would this be too op?
