Everyone could use a hug now and then, and none more than the legendary Hugthulu and Hugthulu Prime. They're back, but it's up to you if you'll accept their deadly embrace.

Getting Started



Speak to Cupid in Windmoore to learn more about the Lovecrafting Event and the huggable threat that Arlor faces. He'll direct you to the portal where you can spend energy to enter the event zone.

Note on Energy Drops: fight monsters at or above your character level to get the best Energy Essence drop rate. Fighting creatures below your level means a lower drop chance for Essence.

Once you're inside the event zone, you can purchase the event Bane Item, the Enthralled Talisman. This item will prevent Hugthulu's tainted love barrels from damaging and slowing you.

Make your way through the map defeating enemies and the Merfkin mini-boss to collect L, O, V, and E candy letters. These can be crafted into event tokens, or a Love Letter to summon the second boss, Hugthulu Prime (more on him in a second).

Then, get ready for a fight! Hugthulu awaits.

Head back to Windmoore to chat with Remmi Amor for quests to gain extra tokens. She has 3 quests (2 daily) to complete.

This two-week event will begin on Thursday, February 10th and run through Thursday, February 24th, with a 3 day cooldown.

Event Scoring and Tier Rewards

Killing Hugthulu gives you Tier Points. Climb through Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Plat Tiers for awesome rewards! At Gold Tier and above, use a Love Letter (crafted from Parchment Paper and L-O-V-E candy letters) to summon Hugthulu Prime at his altar! Killing Hughtulu Prime gives you significantly more Tier points.

Additional Notes

- Loveling, Octopus and Shoggoth pets passive and AA do double damage in the Lovecraft zone, and with the appropriate set (Any Endless or Tainted Love set for octopus pets, 76 and 81 Endless or Tainted Love set for Loveling and Shoggoth) will deal that extra damage in all other zones, including PvP.
- Candy Letters of all types ONLY drop from the new event zone.
- Gold Letters can be traded.
- Love Letter can ONLY BE USED by Gold tier or higher players, but can be crafted and sold/traded by anyone.

Elite Zodias Maps are on the Horizon and we get this? Tf am I supposed to do with 50% GL and 30% Speed Stacking? For the last 2 years of this Event…Arc Shog type HB has become a Signature kind of HB people were looking forward to Pve and Pvp. Idk who was the mastermind of coming up with these type of HB but it’s the type HB I grown to enjoy and could use for a whole year and be satisfied to the next Lovecraft.

Forgot to mention, I doubt there's time to rework Tainted weapons proc but you should consider it for the next time.

The taint weapons proc are severely outdated, for the past 2 caps where gameplay has been so focused on dealing heavy dmg with insanely tanky mobs, these current procs aren't helping anyone, instead these sets are released to get dusty in inventory.

I suggest you to add a 100% proc rate dmg buff (maybe a x1.5 or x2 dmg) + a dot effect that allows 2nd proc to apply more often. This would make taint sets actually a decent choice for those who can't afford more expensive gear such as New Mythic set.
If this sounds too overpowered for a f2p set (which is understandable) can make it so this dmg buff and dot effects only can active when any of the octopus pets, garlic or redd pets are used so it actually gives players a reason to open these eggs instead of just slotting on whatever they need (aa/hb).

Please consider this since as it is right now, these sets have no meaning of being released.

If you don’t want to change Arcanite Redd that is fine. A suggestion sigh…I see there is no Arcanite Garlic Pet. This leaves room to still save the Arc Shog Bloodline…To save this masterpiece that has been started 2 years ago. And u can get rid of the Haste in the Arcanite version for balance. And can be put in the Crates and Plat Store. Everybody wins and the 💰 looks even juicer this Event.

Any chance for Arc Redd Passive to have an in built Slow effect after stacking "x" number of hits on target?

Add unlocked chest to bronze tier.
Add Gold Love letter elixirs to silver and gold tiers.

The 81 Sets are designed to be a bit more powerful than the 76s but not so much that they devalue Legendary (let alone Mythic) 81s.
Arcanite Redd's HB is good as it is and I don't see a compelling reason to change it. Sorry you don't like it :-)
The progressive slow that other fox type pets give you doesn't need to be replicated in Arcanite Redd. If you prefer other foxes' movement debuff stacking I urge you to use egg slotting to get the stats you're looking for in your ideal Pet.

If you don’t want to change Arcanite Redd that is fine. A suggestion sigh…I see there is no Arcanite Garlic Pet. This leaves room to still save the Arc Shog Bloodline…To save this masterpiece that has been started 2 years ago. And u can get rid of the Haste in the Arcanite version for balance. And can be put in the Crates and Plat Store. Everybody wins and the 💰 looks even juicer this Event.

The End and Tainted set bonuses are outdated. Given the current level cap difficulty and how gear has been made for it, i think you should consider adding Stacking Damage or %Primary Stat to these. Legendary items are now better than set items, and the current 81 set bonuses are based on map difficulty that is irrelevant to power creep.
