Well then, I have come across a rather Clever evil pot by the masterminds in pocket legends.

This is basically a warning for all the merchants who wanna make quick profit lol.

Anyways, people are in balefort saying stuff like "buying alien robes 50k" when In cs it's listed for like 30k. They make you buy it then when you do, they run off. They overprice useless items and claim to buy it for more and don't.

I'm not sure what kinda hooligan stunt this is but just be careful lol

I've seen 3-5 people do it since yesterday. Not sure if it's the same guy but still.

Um, here's a better idea :surprise:

List a item in cs for wayyyyyy Over priced:afro:

Then on a different character list that same item, but a lot cheaper! :devilish:

Ive seen something like this on the forums before... Ppl say theyre buying for way overpriced, but the lowest price for thst certain item was listed by the person buying it way overpriced or by one of their alts... Something like that

I've seen this yesterday with a noon buying Seers blizzard stick (Purple) and it was 50k in cs but he was trying to buy for 100k. He wanted to make someone else buy it and he ran away after.

Yeah, this is a classic scam in PL. It's been going on since the CS opened. The devs know this scam, so be sure to report it.

I first encountered it when I was in CS after farming Boulderfist. The scammer said he'd pay 20K for a green that was dropping like flies off of Boulderfist, so I went over and gifted him, and told him, "You shouldn't pay that much! It's a common drop." Then I went on to CS to put up a pink, but first I looked to see if anyone was selling that green and what the true value was and guess what? You already know, of course. It was listed in his name for 10K.

He wanted to take advantage of a greedy person. In this classic scam, the greed of the mark is part of the equation. A nice person would say "Why not just buy the one in CS for 10K?" But a greedy person will buy the one for 10K and try to immediately sell it to the con man for 20K, who amazingly just bought it from someone else. What really happened is, he sold a POS for 10K.

This isnt necesarily scamming. This is a money tactic say i put up robes for 30k then blast in balefort huying robes 60k someone will see oh they 30k ill make 30k profit from this dummy well in actuality hes getting the 30k running away farming again and doing same thing so its not a scam in my opionion just smart way of making money. Lol

Meh, why can't people just play without scamming? Mean seriously?

Oh well! Guess we'll just have to deal with it!

For me, scamming is anything that involves deception to make someone do things that he would normally not do had he known better. I personally consider this a form of scam, a "smart scam", but scam nonetheless...though I'd understand if some don't because there's a fine line that separates smarts from deception since someone needs to be smarter over someone to deceive, you can either focus on the smart deed or the deceitful deed depending on your appreciation. Anyway, that's beside the point, my opinion about the topic is I think this is not a cool way of merching...merchants should rely on facts and speculate the future whether short term, mid term, or long term...merching by deception (or smarts) is an attempt to shortcut the art of trading (not to mention it is highly destructive to the buyer) which is also unfair to those merchants who are doing things the right way. These people should be penalized.

I was there with the rift armor. When I told him it was n cs for 15 he changed his price to 19, so I pulled out my rift to sell to him to c if he was scamming. Guy refused to trade wouldn't pm back so we reported him for scammimg

Most scams in PL are rehashes of cons that were "fresh" in the 1930's. Guess we are in a depression.

hey, i caught the same guy trying it on a wand! I announced he could get it cheaper in CS and told him to buy it. He obviously just left and i announced that he left it there, despite constant announcements that he was looking to buy one for a higher amount.

I presume it works for him, since he's been called out a few times, and still tries the same scam.

I'm with Razer on this one. I don't know that I would call it a "scam." A bit underhanded and scummy? Yeah, perhaps. It's legal in the real world though, whereas other in-game scams at least are comparable to real-world illegal acts. I guess since a lot of players playing this game are kids who might not know any better, it's better to be safe than sorry. Although based on the fact that so many of these people try this without even using an alt suggests that the kids who don't know any better are the ones doing it.

Yep, have seen it myself also. Someone was screaming in Balefort that they wanted to BUY a certain item for 110k. I was curious and looked the item up on auction and it was selling for 60k. I sent them a tell and told them there was one on cs alot cheaper and still they kept on shouting. I was like... really? I'm sure some people are falling for it though. Shame, shame.

I never said this was a scam but a rip off lol

I have no idea what is to be done when I see one of these in action... People are doing this on purpose and really needs to be stopped. Easier said then done should fit in perfectly here lol
