random friend requests annoy me too. Just showing up in town doesn't warrant me wanting to be your friend.

And then you end up getting invited by these random "friends" to games in low level dungeons just because they like to call everyone and their dog to come help them beat a Lvl 10 boss.

Ummm keep every single friend request you get and you won't get as many notices, but you will still get the PM's.. I think everyone does.

No need to be rude about it. I mean, someone is admiring you and you shut the down disrespectfully when all they wanted to do was praise you.


Next time just say "thanks" and politely decline their friend request, it's what I do.

What I do is just pretend I didn't get the request and be AFK. When the person says add me, I continue to stand there.
All quiet and silent.
I believe it is sometimes best to say nothing.

Whirl, what necro said is a good suggestion, and I doubt his girlfriend would give him tickets to a ballet preformance and come up with "Thanks, but NO THANKS!". Another note, pretending to be afk works to, although its just a neutral point of veiw.

Step 1: Do nothing. Ignore random friend requests and go about your business until you check them one day and see that you have gagillion of them built up.
Step 2: Hit "reject all" button, move on with life.
Step 3: Um, that's pretty much it actually

The only time it gets to me is when I farm, which I do a lot in low levels. Gawd forbid I hunt for recipes without accepting all.
Imagine if it were real life,

LOL, I've noticed this too. I think some people just wait for people to join the town and then friend them. I guess it's a contest to see who can get the most friends.

Sorry for going a little off-topic, but who has the most friends in PL? Not counting devs, but regular people. Not saying devs aren't regular, but you get the point :P

This is how you make it fun. Keep all friend requests and see how many friend requests you can build up. The highest I've gotten is around 320 something. If you have cool gear like dragon set or all the old elite gear you will be flooded. Make up a number in your head and see how long it takes you to get there. I'll give 500k to the first person who can post a screen shot with 500 friend requests!

That way you can wear you coolest gear and make it into a game/challenge.

When you are done, its quite satisfying to hit the reject all button and see months of friend requests go away. Just don't make the mistake of hitting accept all like I did once. It takes a LONG time to unfriend all the randoms.
