Unfortunately they aren’t a light source. There are no dynamic lights in AL. If there was lighting and these items were dynamic lights then it’d be a no-brainer to say yes.

As it stands they can only be made “lighter” - and the bad news is: I did that before the event and it makes them totally disappear against the world.

Hopefully we will add lighting and dynamic light sources to Arcane Legends in the future though! :-)

It’s specifically the translucency and color saturation. We experimented with the values to get something that looked good everywhere - which was difficult because zones with bright backgrounds differ from how they appear in ‘dark’ zones.

Maybe full opaque texture with same color? Not sure if that would necessary do the trick tho
Also it looked pretty opaque in the movie so wouldn't hurt to try it once

That doesn’t work at all. It loses all of the fake lighting effect and looks rather cartoonish. The movie effect is a post process that’s made to seem emissive and apply light to surrounding elements. We’d have that with dynamic lights but as I indicated it’s not something we can do yet.

Thanks for the constructive suggestions but rest assured I have already run the gamut of what possibilities can be executed :-)

I can tell the effort by all those trail and errors. And its really amazing
Last idea i got is maybe make particles

Maybe stretch it out a bit, It can also be left behind, as when you swing
The lightsaber in the movie it has that kind of aftertrail. Win win situation :D

Don't remove the physical tube, add particles emitting from within the volume of the tube is what I meant
That way it increase brightness when stationary, and have aftereffect when moving. Pretty cool
