How do you know that? If you're talking about Ibestmage, he isn't the scammer.

Lots do, fulfills some sort of self gratification. For some reason wrong doers find pleasure in having their victim know that it was them who committed the offence.

Just curious, but is scamming someone actually illegal, or one of those things where you have to pay attention to what you are doing?
And yeah, it's a whole lot harder to make someone care about you eSmacking them than it is to actually be a RL situation where you can smack them for real
