Last i heard at 12:54pm central time aurora chief at press conference said 71 people were shot of which 59 injured 12 killed (10 at seen and 2 more at hospitals).
Police, FBI, ATF and bombsquad currently at shooter's apartment and appears to have explosive traps inside as a precaution have evacuated 5 surrounding buildings.
Shooter James Holmes dressed in full tactical gear including a gas mask was apprehended at his car behind theatre approximately 3 minutes after he began shooting. Police resopnse was 2 squad cars arrived on seen 1 and half minutes after first emergency call. Their swift response made mr. Holmes stop his assualt and try to escape, otherwise the number of victums would have been greater.

Such a senseless act i pray for all affected by this that they may find peace and comfort.

Things like this put our little guild dramas (and so-forth) in perspective, don't they? This is a horrible tragedy.

Yes it does, makes us stop and realize how trivial our problems can be and how precious life is. I ask for all to pray and or think of all affected today.

Stupid is as stupid does. Kid should be beaten slowly with a cane just for the 3 month old that was injured.

Saw this on the news, terrible tragedy. :grey: What kind of messed up life do you need to have to plan out and kill tons of innocent people? I just don't get how sick-minded a person would have to be to do something like this. :( I wish all those injured a speedy recovery, and for this maniac to pay due justice.

Shooter had a broken brain. The police wasted their time arresting him, trial and prison will cost way more than a bullet in the head.

You have to be very selfish to just go in and kill innocent lives and harming others. That the shooter was so he deserves the consequences. It really annoys me that they are putting him on trial. What does he have to prove innocence? Just give him what he deserves: punishment. Those 14 dead had a future ahead of themselves, and one of them was getting the job of her dreams. Let's just pray for the victims of this heinous crime and for the families.

It was one of the victims 27th birthday. His last tweet on twitter "The movies about to start! Going to be the best birthday ever!" I started bawling my eyes out when I saw that.

May they all rest in peace, prayers go out to there families <3

The first person I thought of when I heard about the shooting, was a Forum Member, Pharcyde. I remember texting him and if I remember correctly, he said he lived in the area of Aurora. Hope he's okay..

I agree this is a very sad story and should never ever happen yet it still does.. Made me think twice of going to see batman (great movie) and I chose a seat close to the emergency exit just in case. My prayers go out to the grieving families. May they rest in piece.
