Specifically the swordfish. I've seen a couple people with em today but they're stats we're covered up -_-. The swordfish better have good stats if it's gonna be a 2h and you can't wear a shield.

Hyasneagle has the shark sword, and while he did not tell me the specific stats, he said generally the stats were not so great and he thought the purpose of the weapon was to have the shark proc. I'm guessing the crafted Lvl70 weapons probably have better stats, but when you count the magical proc, then it makes these better.

It'll also break your set bonus (assuming you have one), so that makes it even less attractive stat-wise. But still, pretty cool lookin'!

I saw him with it, and almost felt bad. He has this awesome sword, but he is a hard core bird. He probably respecs every time he is in town just to wear it. Actually, considering it is a two hand, a hard core tank would not ever chose to use it, other then it being so awesomely cool.

I'm guessing if someone gets the dex elite weapon, he would probably trade them for it.

Well, in my opinion, if you are a full support mage, which are basically extinct now, the staff would be PERFECT.
Full support, meaning, BARELY ANY combat, just staying in the back, spamming heal everytime the cooldown is over, buffing over and over, revving nonstop, spamming debuffs like crazy.
Since the staff gives that buff proc.
Plus most mages use Wand, so we know the staff isn't going to be helpful.

Same with bear. Most bears are going to go tank-style.

I only think the bird will LOVE that Elite Sea Blaster. Why? As we saw in PvP, the grenade cannonball proc is INSANELY OP.
(it one-shotted a fully geared wand INT mage)
Although the con would be that the cannonball would hit everyone else in the party along with the mobs, so you would want to run away.

I compared these stats to the crafted weapon stats, and they are identical for each class to the Lvl70 crafted 2H weapon (Scimitar, Staff & Crossbone) except they add 2-3 damage points.

The question now is will you lose your set bonus if you add this weapon to a crafted helm & armor?

If you maintain the "offensive" set bonus, then these weapons will be the best weapons in game. If you lose the set bonus, then probably not better, just different. As was said before, either way these are definitely meant for someone who plays more of an offensive game with less defense as they are all 2-handed weapons.

Staff is a mix of support with attack

Off topic: Playing safe :P Deep inside I know you also want some answers like me LOL Don't worry, I already covered that job for you...make it a big thingy :P Just to add to your comment, another question, why are they asking their players to distribute these "promotional" items?...If it's going to be taken on Monday...isn't it more logical that these promotional items be randomly given to players so it covers a wider group of people other than Woundedeagle's? Why the "need" for trust if these were going to be taken away eventually? Is there a method for a player to hide an item from a dev to prevent it from being taken away?...Trust for what? To keep a secret? :P Just asking questions...Can't wait for Monday's statement.

On (semi related) Topic: I think we should expect future Elite Items (armor, shield, helm) that will compliment the weapon elites to form an elite set. I don't think they made this weapon elites without considering a whole new elite set, otherwise, they wouldn't have added an elite tier in CS. Elite is a different tier than Legendary after all, so it would not make sense if they will have set bonus, that's like saying, pink weapon will make a set bonus when worn with purple armor, helm, and shield. :P Just my 2 cents.

*facepalm* because they might sell in CS if it's sold in CS then they take it away in Monday but the person who sold it keeps the gold

If someone who has an elite weapon trades it to someone else, I don't know how STS would know who to take it away from. How would they know the weapon did not just drop to that other person?

Why didn't they announce that there will be promotional item elites to prevent this? ;P It's like they made their lives harder...hmmm thanks...I actually didn't think of the connection until I saw your post...:P

Good question, another "loophole" in this whole fiasco, this time, I'm not the one who found it...awww ;P Would have been more logical if they announced it prior to releasing those items...so everyone knows not to buy it...but they had to keep it under the rader... seems like they went out of their way to really make this one a secret :P

STS has all info. Those who were given the items (at least by me) were briefed many times before being granted the ELITE items. If they traded it, I'm sure they'd be banned. STS has a record of everything. Escpecially for this period of time.
