Adding Gems to the game

If Gems were added to the game I think it would add a new element in trading, and all the other ways the gems could be used adds a new level of excitement to the game. I'm certain they would become the main currency used to trade for items, and they could be used in combination with items to develop new weapons or armor.
It may be hard to add, but if the gems were found and a player took them to a trader in town, or even have a black smith added, they could be combined to create a new statistically unseen item. I personally would play the game to find gems and create new items, as it would add an entire new depth to the game play and curiosity of what could be created


I think it would be an exciting new addition that would intrigue many players and keep them coming back for more.


Just an idea... what do you guys think?

Whats the point? It's like having bills in this game, it'd be pointless, what's the point of having different valued bills, of there is no wallet that can be filled? (the cap will stay the same equivalency from gems to gold)

I prefer a hundred dollar bill in my pocket more than 10,000 pennies.... i guess it varies :D
