I recently moved to a city nearby the school and I'd like to ask something and hope a dev confirm this before I do this.

Is it safe to play in a local computer shop?

Thanks!

For those who might misunderstand the meaning behind Computer Shop, he meant an Internet Cafe or Computer Cafe.
they rent a computer and pay a certain amount of money to use the computer. They play on different computers which is the main point of this question.

It depends on the internet cafe. Does it not save any local files to the PC and restarts every session or its just a very general cybercafe with no safety precautions. Depending on how the cybercafe is, what I'm afraid is that of keyloggers though that will be a very low chance of that happening.

Its not safe, you can be banned for sharing device if someone plays on another account on the same computer

Device sharing isn't a reason for ban, account sharing is.

If you play on devices you have no control over be very careful with your account's info and don't do Plat offers that you may have already done in another device as that is considered Plat farming which is illegal.

Other than that, you don't have anything to worry about concerning banning issues.

Going to say no here, you using a phone at home is 1 ip address, then going to the computer shop to use a computer is a 2nd ip address. It makes the system think you are sharing accounts, also the computer shop will probably have lots of people come in and out meaning there could be a small chance someone else plays AL there or sees AL in the history and decides to log onto your account or make an account on AL. Only use AL on devices you own that no one else will have access to. I always despise public computer usage because of the vulnerability people have if they were to leave an account logged into on the pc.

If someone logs into their account on a shared PC, if one of the associated accounts is banned, everyone's account that was logged into that PC at any time is subject to be banned. regardless of who owns which account.

I have never seen STS ban off of IP addresses (alone), they might use the jumping IPs as causation but as far as I know, they wouldn't "IP ban you", especially since a device could be using a VPN which can easily explain a jumpink IP. they would just find which device was linked to the multiple IPs, see if multiple device IDs have been doing the same on the same account, then ban any account that touched either device. Most gaming companies do not IP ban, what if a family member plays with you but does not break TOS, but your IP has been banned? Banning off Device ID is much for effective, which is why it is bad to share devices, you could get banned for doing nothing wrong, when the person who owns the device breaks ToS. I agree with you 100% DONT SHARE DEVICES

Even if you use your own phone and use random wifi connections to play your ip will be different everytime. people are making you nervous for nothing. Just play and make sure when your done to log your account all the way off of the public computer. Its fine.

I was logging on in different PC everytime in every computer cafe I've been to when I was in college before pandemic. I'm playing AL in incognito so everytime I close the browser, details are gone so you'll need to patch the game again.

and it's rare to see a fellow arlorian in a computer cafe tbh.
