2.) Devs are busy with a bunch of other stuff at the moment, so I'd wait ;).

This has been suggested before, but I font think it will happen, at least, any time soon. I think then people will PvP for only gold, and if you want to PvP, you'll have to pay to get in, or put up items to get in. It all depends on how the devs would take it.
