I think only luck was removed from the game... However, every player has a miniscule chance of rerolling, even without an elixir or enhancer.

Someone may have had time left over on an elixer from befor patch that still had luck potion included.

Bingo. When I logged in after the update, I was surprised to still have some luck leftover.
