Can someone explain why "noob" (or variations) seems to be the ONLY insult that people use in game?
Everywhere around the internet, you have witty, sarcastic people who come up with clever, insightful, or biting comments (see some Amazon product reviews, youtube comments, etc.). In fact some of them are freakin' hilarious as people try to out-wit each other. However, in PL, it seems that most players can only manage to come up with the lame word -"noob". Guy acts stupid in game, he's called a noob. Guy gets booted, he calls the host a "noob", and vice versa. Player has strange equipments, he's called a noob. On and on....
Is this like the word "Smurf" to Smurfs? LOL.
I'm guessing it may be a bunch of little kids playing the game and hear someone else use the word so they need to use it as many times as possible like they are on the playground after learning a word from their big brother. Seems pretty silly to me.
Even the word it self is pretty weak as an insult. It implies a new player. So why make fun of a player just learning the game anyway? Everyone was new at one point in time. Seems kind of childish to throw around the same word that people have been using for so long and pretending like it's some sort of witty remark that you made up, etc.
Oh well, i think most of the responses might be people calling noob, but whatever. ha ha
If you're going to make remarks in game, let's try to be more clever and witty on line, people (but not offensive or mean, of course!). Just more fun and clever!
