New Nuri's Dungeon - stats of Mage set (Prestidigitator) vs Demonic

Hi all,


In this topic, you'll find the stats of the new Lv.60 'Prestidigitator' set for mages. This way, you can decide for yourself if this set is worth anything to you, besides looks.

As you'll notice, stats are quite a bit lower as compared to Demonic, but we'll get to that in a bit. There's also some 'funky business' going on with the bonusses, read on to find out more...

Let's take a look at the set and its stats first...

As you can see in the picture above, stat bonusses don't seem like much... If any at all.

The hat adds: 22Int, 5%crit, 5H/s, 5m/s, 8dmg and 26armor
The set adds: 22Int, 5%crit, 2%hit, 5H/s, 5m/s, 10dmg and 26armor.

Or, in other words.. The set adds 2%hit and 2dmg, that most likely comes from the 22INT. Basically, the set adds nothing but sparkles LOL

Let's compare set stats and skill dmg with demonic...

Comparing both sets, stat by stat...

Prestidigitator/Demonic/difference

Int : 448/455/+7
Hit : 110/111/+1
Crit : 30/30/-
HP : 400/400/-
H/s : 22/37/+15
MP : 824/828/+4
M/s : 29/29/-
Damage: 179-205/207-252/+28-47 (min-max)
DPS : 160/229/+69
Armor : 135/162/+27

So, Demonic gives you following extra stats as compared to Prestidigitator

+7 Int, +1 Hit, +15 H/s, +4 Mana, +27-47 auto-dmg, +69 dps, +27 armor


Let's take a look at skill dmg for Demonic...

Prestidigitator/Demonic/difference

lightning skill dmg: 284-439/312-468/+28-29 (min-max)

Demonic gives you following extra skill dmg as compared to Prestidigitator

+28-29 (min-max) dmg


The Funky Business..

As mentioned in the beginning, there's some funky business going on with this new set...

Not only does the 'set' doesn't seem to add anything but sparkles (no stats), it seems that you'll get those sparkles also when combining any random item with a demonic item. It does't matter what item you replace for a demonic part, it will still sparkle (and still without a real stats-set bonus).

Seriously, this is kinda wierd. Do they combine with Glyph/Fang/Humania gear and complete bonuses as well? Also seems as if they are at least on par with glyph items so if the drop mechanics get fixed, then 56-58 glyph prices could drop.

I checked your Glyph vs Demonic comparison here (http://www.spacetimestudios.com/showthread.php?37954-Demonic-vs-Glyph-a-detailed-comparison) (I was curious again :)) and it is clear that even Charmin' Set is much better than Prestidigator. I would assume that Nuri's Glyph is better than the new set, too.

Possibly the new stuff is suitable for the (currently) nerfed Nuri's campaign, although I hear that the new dungeon is more difficult. So, if you are L.56-60 you actually farm in a paid dungeon to get stuff that is worse than your gear; if you equip your new stuff and use it in the same dungeon you will have a harder time farming :afro:. However, if you use it in the free dungeon you will probably be OK, but why would you want to downgrade your gear? I mean, ;)

My guess is that they made it weaker so the older gear doesn't loose too much value. On the other hand, it could've been done to prevent people whining and complaining on how only plat spenders can get the best gear.

I think the lvl56 gear will probably only be marginally better than 55 gear, but I would need to check that. If not, that would make the new gear completely obsolete LOL

I think you hit the naiil on the head when you said it is not as good statwise, to prevent whining about plat users getting the best. If so I agree, I've all ready seen some of the plat farmers gladly showing off, and so far ( knock on wooden head) no barrage of complaining threads.

Nope, you can swap out any 1 random part of the set with basically anything you want. I tried it on the str and dex sets too and it worked there too.

Str and dex sets don't have any bonus either btw, just visual sparkles again. I'll post pics of those sets tomorrow I anyone is interested.

Scaled items decrease 4 armor/damage from 60 to 56.
You can just plug in base stats and revise the stats effected by Scaling and see how it works.

Yeah this is what I expected. Or they could make it a bit worse than Glyph and enable crafting, so the crafted version would be a bit better than Glyph and worse than Demonic.

All the new items, weapons particularly, seem inferior to even non-set glyph pieces.... with the exception of the Prestidigitator shields, which would rather improve a mimicry dagger, big top mace, or nuri wand "set" (as these lack bonus already) with several points of armor.
