Quest stuck if halo crafted into vanity

There is a "sacred halo" helm and a "sacred halo" vanity. To complete the quest we need to equip the helm and kill lich. However, if we already crafted it into a vanity, the quest cant be completed and there is no way to reset it, unless by "rebalancing"? But for first time players who want the vanity badly they will craft it first then think about using it to do quest.
Is there any way to revert it back to helm?
