Dude, the bow hits like 100. I one shooted a skeleton with 680 damage no crit.
4 base dex to equip it.

I could go str build, more armor more health, less hit, and it wouldnt matter because the insane damage of the bow.

The stats are definitely awesome... but I don't think they compare that well against the mechanics of the item set bonuses you get for those 70 pieces.
Certainly open to further input on the matter, though! :-)

Cinco, these weapons outmatch everything in all the levels, especially levels with non existing sets, effectively making many "collector" items useless.

Example: A L10 dex bear should NOT be capable of 200 DMG with an auto attack (double if it critical hits).

I see. Will these weapons be nerfed at all? I mean bring them down to a level where they are comparable to everything else? Don't get me wrong, I like these new weapons, but I don't like how they just did a one hit KO to the entire value of all the pinks at all levels.

Note: I mean pink weapons. It seems that helms, armors, shields, and vanities are safe.

It actually helped balance level 35 pvp somewhat... Staffs actually have significantly more damage (30) than a wand, which is way better than the stupid 10 extra damage with a voodoo staff (comparing damage to voodoo wand.) Birds are actually pretty good at 35 with the new bow... I mean, they can compete. But I have yet to fight any level 35 with the sword.

You just said it. They devalue EVERYTHING else. It's like pushing a "reset" button on the economy, with these pinks being the new line of weapons.

It's kind of turned twink PvP into the old endgame PvP...you die really fast. At least faster than normal.

Any noobie can go and farm them and laugh in the face of the players who spent hours upon hours farming to get enough for "top gear", which now happens to be "collector's items".

ALSO: I don't have any of those weapons or armors you are mentioning. I am a level 18 bear running on level 10 plat pack gear and a level 5 artisans. You need a bit of skill and timing to beat people with the best gear.

I mentioned already: Count the shots it takes to auto a person dead.
Now: if you really want to protect the noobies from the rushers, remember. It takes 2 seconds now to rush and kill.
I suppose even though these make PvP less fun, it makes me more dangerous.

Increased armour across the board would solve part of this I guess, but it's not going to make WF items much better.

I should note I have a considerable amount of WF/Pups/xmas stuff and other pvp items, win some loose some, I don't care cause I'll just farm these now.

Like I said in another thread, people have been begging FOREVER for bears to be nerfed at 20 and below. You now have weapons which allow other classes to be viable at different levels of pvp and now you don't want it. Gotta stop complaining at some point folks.

I am pretty sure that the 2010 WF gear changed twink pvp and everyone adapted. Then came the crafting of FH stuff, and everyone adapted. Time to find a way to adapt again.

Like I said in another thread, people have been begging FOREVER for bears to be nerfed at 20 and below. You now have weapons which allow other classes to be viable at different levels of pvp and now you don't want it. Gotta stop complaining at some point folks.

I am pretty sure that the 2010 WF gear changed twink pvp and everyone adapted. Then came the crafting of FH stuff, and everyone adapted. Time to find a way to adapt again.

I've always wanted to have a go with a STR weapon in low level, but it has always been impossible, now it is possible because you can be a DEX build and use a sword that actually does some damage because the items have no requirements.

I love them, already I've made a bear build I like for the your forgotten L12 bow, next will be other classes.

It makes me a little annoyed when you spend millions on gear and you die so easily.. These new weapons just make everything else useless and they lose their value. I used to play endgame, it's very boring so I stopped. No I didn't have millions in crafted gear before humania because I stopped playing endgame as soon as Mt Fang came out. I wasn't around when crafting was first introduced. I use my dark forest, it's better than artisans and experts imo. The new armors from forest haven are close to as good as artisans and experts but don't excell in what those 2 armors are known for, hit and crit. And I was obliterated when I first started because I didn't have any gear, so I worked hard to farm/merch for them. Most complaints come from 10-20 because those are the levels most affected by this. I hope this answered most of your questions! :)

For example, the damage gap is now so large, that armor is essentially useless. Now, I really don't care anymore, this twinking aspect of the game is just making it easier for me to get the contacts of my old friends, but some other people who actually care will explain this better.

In my opinion the new weapons balance out endgame seeing as how they're equal to or better then the other endgame weapons, especially for players like me who have never had over 300k gold and don't have the time to do hundreds of farming runs. I mean, a lv 70 Beach bum bow of tiki costs, say 4mil and is (if my understanding is correct) fairly hard to farm, a lv 70 purp forgotten treasure bow costs, what? 100k, 200k? And has very good stats. So to sum it all up, the new event was GREAT for none-hardcores like myself and many others.

I'm trying my butt off to learn and while it is hard to win against so many pros. In the end, I'm still saying go to the best. Its all about adaptation.

Someone had mentioned range in another thread but I forgot which one. I honestly feel people get comfortable being at the top and when a wrinkle comes up, it is easier to complain than try to come up with a solution.

But, as I saw in another post, when this is all over next week you're gonna have those upset that they didn't get to farm, those that will continue to complain (nerf or not), and/or there will be a new trivial topic to get upset about.

People are getting so upset about this gear that they forget REAL in game problems: skills not working in pvp, 2h weapon/vanity glitches, join button for bash STILL disconnects, screen freezes and force closes at "join game" screen, and on and on. JaytB and I also busted our tails making "true" discussion threads with the hopes to educate the community and discuss the future of the game and they get less views/posts after 3-4 weeks than a whining thread that's less than a day old.

I'll chime in and just say that I don't care if they come out with new and better gear than older stuff. That's ok and simply changes the economics and keeps things "interesting".

What I do have a problem with is the best gear costing pennies and everyone having it. I'm still not even sure how everyone enjoyed playing when Alien Oasis was the cap. My goal as a player is to accumulate the best gear. Once I do that, i will grow bored and probably stop playing until new and better gear comes out, and so on. Right now after much hard work I have leveled to 71 and have the crafted sand walker set. And now I am working on saving for a dragon armor/helm set.

If suddenly a new vanity set that was better came out and cost 50k, I'd probably buy it, and then take off the next 2 months until the next expansion came out and I had some new and better gear to work for. So my problem is not that this gear is better, my problem is that it is both better and common. If they are going to have new gear that is best in game, make it rare and hard to get like dragon gear.

I'm just thankful that my sand walker set is still the best strength gear. But I feel bad for birds that had the sand skipper set with the phantom bow, because this new lvl71 pink bow is better.

Apollo the intro of these weps is not a gold sink in any way or form.

Any person who have played a real MMO can agree with me that it is merely a transaction of wealth from one player to another. If anything it's creating more gold.

If anything, this update has made gold useless. Why do people need to farm and save weeks for a set when they can do a 10minute run, get a forgotten drop, and be as strong as ever other person of their level.

Apart from crafting this game essentially has NO gold sinks. There is no such thing as a level 99 skill (such as crafting) where you need to spend hundred of millions to get.

Lower level Winter items were inflated prior to this update but ONLY because they were USEful in PVP. There were no farm-able counterparts to those weps.

People are currently panic selling, I was selling pink ducks for just under 300k in cs a few days ago and now I see some posted for 170k. This is expected.

But down the road, the winter items should be back to where it was and even higher but unless these weapons are nerfed (which I believe it should) they will only be valued as collectibles and items used in costume sets.

BUT HONESTLY STS NERF THESE. Don't ruin your own game. If this is a marketing scheme to rack in more plat buyers then I think it is the wrong way of doing it. Tbh you might be even losing plat sales as there's less need for damage elixirs now with these OP weapons. Dunno about you but I don't like to play easy games and go around 2 shooting people in pvp.

Edit: O and you have just made low level armors and defence obsolete. Having 20 30 or 40 armor does not matter anymore if you're facing people who are 150+ damage unbuffed.

How do you know I don't have multiple toons below lvl 20? You assume that just because thise of us who post are only high levels when in fact, many of us have been twinking for quite a while.

Well people act like this is controversial. This is in no way controversial. These need nerfed, even if after the nerf they still overpower WF items. Look at the damage on them, it's ridiculous. Even if STS got a wild hair and decided to make an easy to farm "super weapon", they should still realize the next day the error in their ways. Yet for some reason, the nerfing of these weapons is "controversial". Ask anyone on forums, I'm not exactly a "pro" yet I have gear that is very close to top gear (purple WF item instead of pink, out of choice). So maybe I'm a little bit biased towards the nerfing side because I have some value in WF items. My value in WF items is now tiny compared to how many of these new super weapons I have. Maybe I go a bit too far with words, but this is ridiculous. The people who want these to stay at this damage are mostly just noobs who rushed everyone with their new super weapon and know that if their new best friend got nerfed, they would either have to go spend some time farming to buy some real weapons, or take a beating every game they join in PvP.

I promise you I am no "noob". I have my fair share of 2010 and 2011 WF items and I could honestly care less about the new drops and weapons. Why? Because, for the most part, people are having fun farming weapons and trying to earn FREE vanity shields. I also treat games just as they are: games.

The moment I start getting all pissed off and upset as others have been the last few days, then I am out. If it's no longer fun, then it's no longer a game.

It's not just about this update.

If STS receives a positive response from the community for this update then they will likely repeat and give us similar content releases in the future.

All they have to do is double/triple our hp to fix the problem.

I don't really see why they don't raise hp each time you level. Str should have a higher health raise and dex should have a higher damage raise, but not enough to overpower the str health raise. That way it would be a tough decision on whether or not to go hybrid.

Or, OR, OR, the higher level you get, the more that stat points benefit you. For example, 5 dex at level 10 would be worth 1 or 2 damage, while 5 dex at level 71 would be worth 5 or 6 damage. 5 str at level 10 would be worth 10 or 20 health, and at level 71, perhaps 40 or 50. These aren't what I want, but I include them to give an example.



The way the game functions is very basic and simple, I guess, that's why it's so popular. No serious math needed.
