I have never really understood what it does.

Today I tried to test it, I went to Orrick, he was dealing X amount of damage to me without any amulet with his big attack,
Then I tried it again, using the Profiteers Amulet, the damage I took was actually higher so I would really like to get an explanation how it works..

tyIf i remember well, armor mitigation works just like the armor stats

Edit; just tried, its not it

Adds 15% armor to character (non visually)
Tested this, a purple mogera mob hits for 339 dot over and over with 0 armor on a lv 81 character. When you equip 8,756 armor you take 68 damage. 68/339= 0.20 which means 68 is 20% of 339. You take 20% damage leaving 80% resisted. 80% is the armor damage reduction cap.
With the profiteer pendant on with 8,756 armor you will take 68 damage still, but with 0 armor and the profiteer pendant you will take 285 damage. 339-285 = 54 damage reduced. 54/339 = 15.9% damage reduced. Yes the final value should be 15 but sts math rounds up in decimals and I evaluated the decimals which was a loop that caused the extra .9%.

A more precise approach is using the Armor Modifier in which it is 0.00009147 at lv81.

The most constant dmg I've received Elite Zodias maps and concluded at 8,746 instead of the 8,756 armor cap.

Dividing the armor reduction in decimal form with the armor modifier results to the armor equivalence. Whereas the product of the armor modifier with the armor value yeilds to the armor reduction.

For example:

Armor cap is 80%. So from the aforementioned procedure, "Dividing the armor reduction in decimal form with the armor modifier results to the armor equivalence.", 0.80/0.00009147 = 8,746.

and, "the product of the armor modifer w/the armor value yeilds the armor reduction" e.g (0.00009147*8,746)*100 = 80% armor reduction.

15% armor mitigation is just 0.15/0.00009147 = 1640 armor equivalence. Or (0.00009147*1640)*100 = 15% armor reduction

A neat thing about armor mitigation is it comes in handy when you are using good gear with unfortunately low armor stats which puts you below armor cap (zaarus set for instance where for wars it only adds up to around 8k-ish armor without arm awakes but set bonus is op for stats except armor).
