Welcome, I can't give you many tips that have to do with mages, since I am a WarBird..
But just keep xp farming, and also try farming for pinks! It takes time, but hard work pays off!

About the lvling fast, you could play XP runs in Bandit Hideout until ur 53, then go to nuri making Symphony runs until your 58, then doing Fang Crypt runs until your 63 and then do humania maps (lagoon and Villas best for xp) ^^

About money, you can merch (hard for starters), you can Get direct gold by farming ALONE monsters in plasma pyramid (Oasis 3), or if your lucky, you can farm pinks from sandstone caves which sells very good anytime o;

welcome to the forums. If you need to level up fast as level 48 I suggest running the first level of balefort sewers with a 3-4 person party. Once you get to 51 or you get good level 50 gear you can try it solo or a 2 man run

Sorry I'm level 48 and a very slow leveler, (voluntarily stay at each level, too lazy ha) but I can welcome you to the forums! There's lots of great people here, and you'll find a place to recieve you easily. Also you can find TONS of great information with the search. But also just putting out there, the 'pocket' link in my sig, leads to a photoshop thread I have that you can ask for a sig, or look up Flacs or Mothwing to get some sick sigs too =]
