View Full Version : Which Skills Grow With You?

I have seen references on this forum that indicate that some skills "grow" with you. For example, Empathy at level 6 says it "heals friendly targets 30-35 every 3 seconds" but some have suggested that it heals for much more than that because it scales with some attribute of your character (such as max damage or DPS or something). But I have seen some references to skills that do not scale. For example, that Pain at level 6 never does more than the "15-25 area damage at end of stun" that it states.

How can it be determined which skills "grow with you" and which do not? Also, what do they "grow" with? Maximum damage, DPS, something else?

That is an interesting question. I would love to know the answer as well...unfortunately with the removal of the damage indicators...its hard to see any difference between weapon/skill combos.
Sorry I couldn't help you here...a good eye on the targeted enemy bar... maybe if you test a few weapons and skills together to see which does more dmg to the health meter....
I have heard that trans "hits harder" the more dmg you have...whatever that means. As far as I know...the skills only do what they say they do at any particular level.
I've seen no proof that they do more than stated....but I could be wrong. Btw welcome to the forums :-)

Here is one thread where I saw it mentioned in a general sense, but no specifics:

"4. Weapon damage (Not DPS) affects all skills that deal damage, not just Transference. I have had mixed results so far, but there is a chance that pure heals could also be affected by weapon numbers."

Healing is affected by damage. It's well-established.

More damage = higher heals. My Engi's got an 83-100and something damage rate, and she heals 103-108. Or something.

Higher damage increases skill damage too. Also if i use weapon with best damage, i can heal about 140. With c
Gloves its lower

FYI heal/skill is affected by the AMOUNT of dmg you can do in one hit, not dps.
