View Full Version : Still working away on Arcane Legends

Hey gang,

We know that people would like to hear more about Arcane Legends - but we're still working away on it. Expect more later this fall. In the meantime, we are doing some user testing (did you see the pic of the latest user test on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151187217139052&set=a.10150701202749052.461205.156276619051&type=1&theater)?) to make sure what we're building goes over and plays well. Also, check out the latest concept art on the Arcane Legends Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/arcanelegends) page.

However, work on Arcane Legends is definitely not slowing down our development of other Spacetime Studios games. We have the new level cap raise and 2 new campaigns (and more) for Dark Legends in final testing now - look for it to go live later this week. Star Legends level cap and new content probably coming out the following week (again, depending on testing and final polish) with a first look at the level cap (a new zone) for Pocket Legends not far behind that. Oh, and you are hearing this here first - double XP weekend for Star Legends and Pocket Legends on for this long Labor Day weekend!

Sam, can I make a suggestion: please test Arcane Legends with existing sts game players. I remember when you guys tested DL (and it's orignial energy mechanic) on highschoolers who had no experience with you guys. You relied on their feedback and we all saw how well DL was received initially. :(

I just feel like you need to test it with people who can give constructive feedback instead of "OMGZ dis game rockz me so hard!" or other things you want to hear.

I agree with this. Please test it with a balance of seasoned StS players and new members. The seasoned players can offer a great deal of constructive criticism & the new players can give an insight as to how new players will react and like the new game. I know both are highly important information yall need & I hope yall find the right candidates for the job!

While I liked DL both before and after the energy change I do agree that it seems worthwhile to have a beta period that includes experienced players. I'd recommend that the beta consist of some group that includes me. :vwink:

Yes, there will be a Arcane Legends beta. I am not sure when yet but Cassric told me there will be one.

No, because it is insanely easy to level in DL just by sending your allies out. Your energy fully recharges every 4 hours.

In one sense you could say it's easy but that assumes you're doing nothing but DL. If you have work, school, some sort of life then it's much more challenging. Especially that last level for 17.6k xp. I really appreciate this difference about DL, I was on the verge of quitting all STS games completely because they were so exclusively dedicated to hardcore fanatical gamers (aside from the inane trolling in town.) In DL I can keep up and get decent gear while still having a life - as a result I spent money once more on STS games.

And I'm not sure where you got 4 hours. 25 energy points, 5 minutes per point, 125 minutes - 2 hours and 5 minutes.

I work full time with a long commute and have many things outside of work to do. I send my allies out on 24 hour quests and check on them about three or four times a day. I got to 26 in a reasonable amount of time this way (along with doing each instance at least once as I levelled). Compared to PL and SL, it is lightning fast. Plus I have more pink items than I know what to do with from my allies. 25 energy is enough to send about three allies out at a time, if you pick the right ones. Also, as you clear the areas, you get more allies to send out.
